1. Hero of Labor Pham Dinh Duan - Worker of Mining Workshop 14, Vang Danh Coal Joint Stock Company - Vinacomin, Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group.

Having been attached to the mine since the early days, in October 2011, Mr. Duan was appointed as Kiln Manager, Head of Guong, and then Production Team Leader at Workshop KT14.

Underground coal mining is a difficult, stressful and dangerous job, especially when production conditions are getting deeper and deeper, the geology is complex and the climate is harsh. However, overcoming all challenges, under the leadership of Mr. Duẩn, Production Team No. 1 - Workshop KT14 is always one of the teams with outstanding achievements, excellently completing assigned tasks.

In the period of 2015-2023, the production team led by Mr. Duẩn achieved an average output of over 55,000 tons of raw coal per year. The average income of workers in the team ranges from 15 to 25 million VND/person/month. Notably, more than half of the technical workers have an income of over 300 million VND/year. This is also one of the production teams that always maintains the leading achievements in the whole company.

2. Hero of Labor Mai Duc Chung - Head Coach of the National Women's Football Team.

As one of the groups honored in the Vietnam Glory 2025 Program, Cho Ray Hospital, one of the special general hospitals in the South, receives more than 10,000 patients every day. This is not only the destination for complicated cases but also the place where medical miracles are performed. A typical example is the case of Ms. NTA, 34 years old, who was hospitalized in critical condition. Thanks to ECMO technology, doctors saved the patient's life, marking a great success in Vietnamese medicine.

Not only that, the hospital is also a pioneer in applying robotic surgery. Since deploying the Da Vinci robotic surgery system in 2017, Cho Ray Hospital has performed 157 surgeries, affirming its leading position in high technology in Vietnam.

The hospital also performs many specialized techniques such as kidney transplants, liver transplants, cancer treatment with stereotactic radiotherapy, and cardiovascular interventions, contributing to building Cho Ray into a leading high-tech medical center.

In particular, the hospital has been internationally honored, becoming the first hospital in Vietnam to join the International Hospital Federation (IHF) and receive the Asia-Pacific International Quality Award in 2024. This is a testament to the continuous efforts of the medical team at Cho Ray Hospital in improving the quality of healthcare for the community.

The Ho Chi Minh City Armed Forces have made outstanding contributions to building a national defense posture. Could you please share some typical highlights in this special urban area?

- In recent years, the Ho Chi Minh City Command has implemented many effective models such as "Improving the militia and self-defense force", "Building a model and representative force", helping to consolidate a strong national defense. Policies such as "Local support for local" have improved the quality of training and combat readiness in all situations.

In civil mobilization and rescue activities, how have the armed forces of Ho Chi Minh City carried out their work, especially in difficult times such as epidemics and natural disasters, sir?

- During the COVID-19 pandemic, the armed forces of Ho Chi Minh City have been working hard, from controlling the blockade area, serving the field hospital, to receiving and cremating the bodies of the victims. Despite facing personal loss, they remained resilient, sacrificing for the benefit of the community, demonstrating the spirit of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in peacetime.

Could you tell us what changes the Ho Chi Minh City armed forces have made in building a regular, elite, and modern force?

- The armed forces of Ho Chi Minh City continue to promote the 80-year tradition, strengthening the spirit of initiative and creativity. They focus on training to improve combat quality, master modern weapons and meet mission requirements in the new situation, contributing to the development of Ho Chi Minh City into a megacity.

How does the Major General evaluate the significance of the Vietnam Glory 2025 program?

- The program honors outstanding individuals and groups and contributes to spreading political and cultural values, encouraging people to contribute to social development. It not only ignites the flames of dedication but also motivates patriotic emulation movements.

Investing in education, improving people's knowledge and training high-quality human resources is the key solution for sustainable development in the midland and mountainous areas of the North. Thai Nguyen University (TNU) plays a central role in training, research and technology transfer for 14 provinces in the region, contributing to narrowing the development gap. The expansion of branches in provinces such as Lao Cai and Ha Giang affirms the strategic role of the university in socio-economic development in border areas.

Associate Professor Dr. Hoang Van Hung, Director of the University of Natural Resources and Environment, shared that over the past years, the University of Natural Resources and Environment has trained nearly 400,000 bachelors, engineers, masters, and doctors, of which 70% are students from the midland and mountainous regions. Many of our students are currently holding leadership positions in their localities. The university also actively provides policy advice and technology transfer to serve agricultural production, contributing to sustainable poverty reduction.

With the strong transformation of education, VNU has launched a strategy of digital transformation and innovation. The school is implementing projects of "digital university, smart university", using technologies such as AI, Big Data, IoT to improve training quality. At the same time, VNU also builds an ecosystem connecting students, lecturers with businesses and localities, thereby promoting the spirit of creative entrepreneurship. International cooperation programs are also promoted, contributing to improving national and regional education standards.

Mr. Pham Dinh Duan said that after receiving this honor and returning to work, he will continue to strive to study and work harder to labor, produce, and complete the tasks assigned by the workshop and the company; and have more initiatives to help the company as well as the coal industry develop further.

Vietnam Glory is a special cultural and political event honoring the national spirit, love for the Fatherland, Heroes; typical advanced examples, businesses and entrepreneurs with outstanding achievements in the patriotic emulation movement, in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.

The program is directed by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, directly organized and implemented by Lao Dong Newspaper, with the effective coordination of the Central Emulation and Reward Committee, the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee and many ministries and branches.

The year 2025 marks many important historical milestones of the nation: the 95th anniversary of the Party's founding (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2025), the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the 100th anniversary of the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press (June 21, 1925 - June 21, 2025). This is also the year of Party Congresses at all levels, towards the 14th Congress - opening a new era of development, an era of strong growth of the nation. The Vietnam Glory 2025 program honors 19 heroic and advanced examples (13 groups, 6 individuals) who are units with a long history of achievements, reminding us of the proud historical journey and great achievements in many fields of the nation since 1945. The program also chooses to honor new factors with resilience, innovation, and creativity, demonstrating the nation's aspiration to reach out, affirming Vietnam's position in the international arena.

Through the program, the Organizing Committee hopes to arouse the sense of responsibility and aspiration of each individual and collective in building a prosperous Vietnam; encourage the active participation of all classes of people in the common development journey of the country.

As of 2025, a total of 313 groups and individuals have been honored in the annual Vietnam Glory programs.
