The concert, which featured G-Dragon and a host of K-pop stars, left an unforgettable impression on Vietnamese audiences. Along with the big names, Tempest - a boy band under Yuehua Entertainment - impressed with a series of vibrant hits, making the more than 40,000 spectators unable to sit still.
MC Hanbin - member of Tempest group.
In particular, Hanbin - the Vietnamese member of the group - made a strong impression when he first took on the role of MC at an international music festival with a scale of 40,000 people.
Not only did Hanbin host the show with confidence and charm in three languages (Vietnamese - Korean - English), he also demonstrated his stage presence by smoothly coordinating the interactions between the artists and the audience.
He himself could not hide his emotion, sharing that this was one of the proudest moments of his career.
Hanbin's professionalism and dedication were also evident in the way he accompanied the Tempest members in preparing for the show. Without the need for an interpreter, the members confidently introduced themselves and interacted with fans completely in fluent Vietnamese.
In a special performance, the group also performed the song Song Tinh as a surprise gift to Vietnamese fans. Their clear voices, sincere emotions, and almost perfect pronunciation made the online community admire them.
On social media platforms, fans showered praise on Tempest and especially Hanbin – who is jokingly called the group’s “Vietnamese tutor”. Behind-the-scenes videos show Hanbin diligently correcting each member’s pronunciation and giving detailed instructions, contributing to a complete and touching Vietnamese performance.
Hanbin's real name is Ngo Ngoc Hung, born in 1998 in Yen Bai. Before becoming a Kpop idol, he was the leader of the famous CAC cover dance group in Vietnam. With a burning passion and a progressive spirit, Hanbin decided to "bet" his youth in the land of kimchi - where music is a fierce battle.

In 2020, Hanbin became a sensation when he participated in the survival reality show I-LAND, co-produced by CJ ENM and BigHit (now HYBE). Having reached 4th place globally in episode 10 with more than 1.4 million votes, Hanbin's Twitter account gained more than 150,000 followers in just 24 hours. Despite finishing in 10th place in the finale, Hanbin did not give up.
Instead of giving up on his dream, Hanbin continued to practice and hone his skills, and in 2022, he debuted with the group Tempest under Yuehua Entertainment – one of the major entertainment companies in Korea. This was the first time a Vietnamese boy officially debuted in a Kpop idol group – a historic milestone.
What makes Hanbin special is not only his efforts or talent, but also his burning love for his homeland. Despite his busy schedule in Korea, Hanbin always takes time to send greetings on major Vietnamese holidays such as Lunar New Year, National Day September 2, Liberation of the South April 30, etc. He often takes photos with the national flag, wears ao dai or shirts with the words "Lac Hong Bloodline" printed on them, showing his national pride in every small action.
Not only stopping at being an icon, Hanbin also actively promotes Vietnamese cuisine, landscapes and culture to international friends, including the members of Tempest. He often uses Vietnamese in group activities, making international fans so excited that they… learn Vietnamese to understand what their idols are saying.

Hanbin also closely follows the activities of the fan community in Vietnam. He has quietly “liked” and re-shared posts from iE Vietnam – a loyal fan community – as a silent but profound thank you and connection. During Tempest’s first concert in Ho Chi Minh City in 2024, Hanbin was moved when thousands of fans cheered his name in his homeland.
Hanbin is praised for having both the courage of an international idol and the soul of a Vietnamese son who always looks back to his roots. That is what helps him conquer not only Vietnamese audiences but also international fans. With his outstanding contributions, in 2023 Hanbin was honored at the WeChoice Awards with the Rising Artist award - Inspiring Artist.
