Yen Bai: OCOP products reach far through digital platforms

With the strong development of digital technology, OCOP entities in Yen Bai province have been promoting product consumption through online sales channels, initially bringing practical results, contributing to expanding market share, increasing sales and maintaining position in the market.

If in the past, the Tay Bac Hien Vinh Agricultural Products Processing Cooperative in Residential Group No. 4, Yen Binh Town, Yen Binh District consumed food and agricultural products through traditional sales channels, now, thanks to the strong development of social networking platforms, the female director of the Cooperative Dong Thi Hien has changed the sales method by livestreaming every day or self-producing short videos introducing the products as well as the product production process to promote to a large number of customers.
In parallel with investing in production equipment to improve product quality, Hien Vinh Northwest Agricultural Products Processing Cooperative also focuses on investing in additional equipment to serve sales on digital platforms. Up to now, in addition to booths on Shoppee, Tiki, Lazada, the Cooperative has also built tiktok and facebook pages with high interaction. Thanks to that, the Cooperative's products are known and ordered by many people, thanks to which the Cooperative has developed stably.
Ms. Dong Thi Hien - Director of Hien Vinh Tay Bac Agricultural Products Processing Cooperative shared: In order for customers to trust and feel secure when using the products, in addition to the strict production process, reputable product quality is the top criterion, we also regularly create beautiful, modern and luxurious designs and packaging for customers to buy as gifts. Especially when participating in sales on social networking platforms, the number of customers in provinces and cities across the country knowing about the Cooperative is increasing, and revenue is also increasing higher than before".
Thanks to the effective multi-platform sales strategy, the Doan Luong General Processing and Trading Cooperative on Dien Bien Street, Yen Bai City has higher revenue year after year. To develop an effective "online" sales channel, Ms. Doan Thi Luong - Director of the Cooperative has proactively researched and learned how to film and take photos of products, and build product introduction content to post. In particular, she has actively participated in livestream sales training courses to be able to build scripts, operate and organize a sales session as well as build online booths. Currently, many products of the Cooperative have been known and regularly ordered by many domestic consumers such as: Candied apples, candied apples, fried dough sticks, smoked pork, etc.
Ms. Luong said: "Expanding sales channels, putting products on many different sales platforms and taking advantage of the power of e-commerce platforms is an inevitable trend to help cooperatives expand their customer base and increase revenue. Compared to traditional sales, sales on social networks are 20-30% higher than before."
Yen Bai province currently has over 280 OCOP products with nearly 30 products achieving 4 stars; the rest are 3-star products. To build brands and improve production and business efficiency, up to now, Yen Bai province, nearly 300 agricultural processing establishments have put about 950 products on e-commerce platforms. Of which, 100% of OCOP products are available on reputable e-commerce platforms such as: Voso.vn, Shopee, Alibaba, Sendo and major supermarkets nationwide such as Go!, Mega, Saigon Co.op , Winmart... In addition, sales channels on social networking sites have also created a large and stable consumer market for OCOP products. Thereby, contributing to helping businesses and cooperatives increase revenue and create stable brands.
Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chien - Deputy Director of Yen Bai Department of Industry and Trade said: "To accompany businesses and cooperatives in promoting, introducing and consuming products, in recent times, Yen Bai province has promoted propaganda, dissemination and guidance of new policies to people and business households on connecting, exchanging and exploiting trade promotion information; promoting the image of the province's products to foreign markets. Along with that, organizing training courses on professional skills and trade promotion information for officials working in trade promotion and businesses, organizations and individuals. Yen Bai province also organizes trade connection conferences and focuses on product quality management; organizes fairs with the participation of famous people to sell online with businesses and cooperatives in the province to help businesses have the opportunity to learn and improve their "online" sales skills.
In the context of increasingly deep digital transformation, multi-channel sales are no longer an option, but have become an inevitable requirement if OCOP products want to affirm their position in the large market. With the strong direction of the province, the support of all levels and sectors and the efforts of each entity, OCOP products will be brought closer to consumers, promote production and narrow the gap between regions. Thereby contributing positively to local socio-economic development.
