Previously, the Hien Vinh Northwest Agricultural Products Processing Cooperative in Hamlet No. 4, Yen Binh town, Yen Binh district, sold its food and agricultural products through traditional sales channels. However, thanks to the strong development of social media platforms, the cooperative's director, Dong Thi Hien, has changed her sales methods by livestreaming daily or producing short videos introducing the products and their production process to promote them to a wider customer base.

Alongside investing in production equipment to improve product quality, the Hien Vinh Northwest Agricultural Products Processing Cooperative also focuses on investing in equipment to support sales on digital platforms. To date, in addition to stores on Shopee, Tiki, and Lazada, the cooperative has also built TikTok and Facebook pages with high interaction rates. Thanks to this, the cooperative's products are known and purchased by many people, leading to stable development.

Ms. Dong Thi Hien, Director of Hien Vinh Northwest Agricultural Products Processing Cooperative, shared: "To gain customer trust and confidence in our products, in addition to a strict production process and a reputable product quality as our top priority, we also regularly create beautiful, modern, and luxurious packaging designs for customers to buy as gifts. Especially when participating in sales on social media platforms, the number of customers in provinces and cities nationwide who know about our cooperative is increasing, and our revenue is also growing higher than before."

Thanks to its effective multi-platform sales strategy, the Doan Luong General Processing and Trading Cooperative on Dien Bien Street, Yen Bai City, has seen its revenue increase year after year. To develop an effective online sales channel, Ms. Doan Thi Luong – Director of the Cooperative – proactively researched and learned how to film and photograph products, and create product introduction content for posting. In particular, she actively participated in training courses on livestreaming sales to develop scripts, organize sales events, and build online stores. Currently, many of the Cooperative's products are well-known and regularly ordered by domestic consumers, such as: candied hawthorn berries, hawthorn jam, sticky rice fritters, smoked pork, etc.

Ms. Luong stated: "Expanding sales channels, bringing products to various sales platforms, and leveraging the power of e-commerce platforms is an inevitable trend that helps cooperatives expand their customer base and increase revenue. Compared to traditional sales, sales on social media are 20-30% higher than before."

Yen Bai province currently has over 280 OCOP products, with nearly 30 products achieving 4-star rating; the rest are 3-star products. To build brands and improve production and business efficiency, nearly 300 agricultural processing facilities in Yen Bai province have listed approximately 950 products on e-commerce platforms. Of these, 100% of OCOP products are available on reputable e-commerce platforms such as Voso.vn, Shopee, Alibaba, Sendo, and major supermarkets nationwide such as Go!, Mega, Saigon Co.op , Winmart… In addition, sales channels on social media have created a large and stable market for OCOP products. This has contributed to increasing revenue and building stable brands for businesses and cooperatives.

Mr. Nguyen Dinh Chien, Deputy Director of the Yen Bai Department of Industry and Trade, said: "To support businesses and cooperatives in promoting, introducing, and selling their products, Yen Bai province has recently intensified its efforts in disseminating and guiding new policies to the people and business households regarding connecting, exchanging, and exploiting information for trade promotion; and promoting the image of the province's products to foreign markets. Along with that, we have organized training courses on trade promotion information skills for trade promotion officials and businesses, organizations, and individuals. Yen Bai province also organizes trade networking conferences and focuses on product quality management; and organizes trade fairs with the participation of celebrities to jointly sell online with businesses and cooperatives in the province, giving businesses the opportunity to learn and improve their online sales skills."

In the context of increasingly widespread digital transformation, multi-channel selling is no longer an option, but a necessity if OCOP products want to establish their position in the broader market. With the strong guidance and support from the province, the collaboration of all levels and sectors, and the efforts of each entity, OCOP products will be brought closer to consumers, boosting production and narrowing the gap between regions. This will contribute positively to the socio-economic development of the locality.
