Appreciating the strengths of Heilongjiang province, Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Nguyen Trung Khanh said that the two sides have a lot of potential for cooperation, especially in the field of tourism.

Vietnam tourism has recently developed strongly thanks to the attention of the Party and the Government in promoting tourism to become a key economic sector of the country. Vietnam's tourism development strategy to 2030 identifies tourism as a key economic sector, contributing greatly to the gross domestic product (GDP) and socio-economic development. At the same time, the strategy also identifies China as one of the top priority markets for Vietnam's tourism.

Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Nguyen Trung Khanh said Chinese tourists favor island destinations such as Da Nang, Nha Trang, Phu Quoc, and also love seafood cuisine.

In contrast, the number of Vietnamese tourists to China has also increased rapidly. In addition to aviation, the two countries have many favorable conditions to exploit various forms of tourism by road, sea, and rail, with many connecting routes being expanded between Guangxi, Yunnan (China) and provinces and cities of Vietnam.

Vietnam currently prioritizes the development of four main product lines including sea and island tourism, eco-tourism, cultural tourism and urban tourism, along with supporting types such as health tourism, agriculture, golf, railway tourism, etc.

Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Nguyen Trung Khanh proposed that the two sides increase the exchange of tourism information, coordinate in organizing promotions, sharing about market needs and organizing participation in major events in each country.

Vietnam has two annual tourism promotion fairs: VITM in Hanoi in April and ITE in Ho Chi Minh City in September.

Director of the Vietnam National Tourism Administration Nguyen Trung Khanh hopes that Heilongjiang province will participate in the fair to strengthen diplomatic relations, promote culture, and tourism cooperation between the two countries.
