Mong Duong Thermal Power Plant ensures electricity supply in the dry season of 2025, contributing to socio-economic development

Faced with prolonged hot weather and high electricity consumption demand in the dry season of 2025, Mong Duong Thermal Power Plant, Mong Duong Thermal Power Company - a unit under Power Generation Corporation 3 (EVNGENCO3) has proactively deployed many synchronous solutions, ensuring safe, stable and efficient operation, contributing to continuous electricity supply to the national power system, serving socio-economic development and people's lives.

In order to ensure safe and stable electricity supply for the dry season and the whole year of 2025, Mong Duong Thermal Power Company has drastically and synchronously implemented many solutions from direction, operation, repair, to fuel and equipment preparation. In which, direction and operation work is closely implemented with the establishment of the Electricity Supply Steering Committee, promulgation of operating regulations and organization of the electricity saving emulation campaign from the beginning of the year. The company also assigned leaders to be on duty 24/7 including overtime, weekends and holidays to be ready to handle arising situations. Regarding operation work, it is enhanced through system inspection, shift meetings and arranging technical staff on duty 24/7 to support troubleshooting when necessary. The company organizes periodic equipment assessments to promptly correct defects. At the same time, a team of on-call staff has been established to support the operation shift, including highly skilled members, and a specific overtime schedule has been arranged during the dry months.

Along with that, Mong Duong Thermal Power Company closely coordinated with EPS Company to quickly handle incidents, ensuring repair progress and quality. In the first quarter, the Company completed the minor repair of unit S2 on schedule, with quality. Fuel preparation was ensured, coal was supplied according to the signed contracts with TKV and Dong Bac Corporation, meeting the demand for electricity production in 2025. The Company regularly coordinated with coal suppliers in coordinating delivery and receipt, ensuring quantity and quality. Materials work was proactively implemented according to plan, with monitoring actual operations, updating equipment status to purchase materials promptly, close to actual needs and ensure effective use.

As of June 23, 2025, Mong Duong Thermal Power Plant has stably operated two units, producing 3,437/7.2 billion kWh, reaching 47.74% of the plan assigned by Power Generation Corporation 3, contributing to the completion of the production plan in 2025.

The systems for treating exhaust gas, ash, and wastewater are operated stably, ensuring full compliance with current standards. The plant also actively implements quality management, environmental protection, and climate change response programs in line with EVNGENCO3's sustainable development orientation.
