Over the past 65 years, overcoming countless difficulties and challenges in the revolutionary struggle, the special, loyal and rare friendship between Vietnam and Cuba has been constantly consolidated and developed; contributing to enhancing peace, stability, cooperation and development in the two regions and in the world.

In September 1973, Cuban leader Fidel Castro became the first foreign head of state to visit the liberated zone of Southern Vietnam in Quang Tri .
