The Miss Cosmo Ho Chi Minh City 2026 competition, themed “The New Iconic,” has officially launched. Taking on the role of head judge, Ly Nha Ky expressed that what impressed her about this year's competition is its criteria for honoring the holistic beauty of women, not only physical beauty but also intelligence, confidence, dynamism, and independence.
"The competition accurately reflects the image of Vietnamese women in the era of integration: they are not only wives and mothers within the family framework, but also entrepreneurs, artists, leaders, politicians ... those who are asserting their position and value in society."
According to Ly Nha Ky, when evaluating contestants, she is not just looking for a beauty queen for the final night, but a brand ambassador capable of accompanying the crown and responsibilities for the long term.
“Beauty will fade, but the value of a person is eternal. A businesswoman always seeks sustainable value, and here, ‘profit’ is the positive influence, the prestige of the competition, and the new Miss's ability to spread compassion. Therefore, character, integrity, and ethics are the foundation,” she said.
As a judge, Ly Nha Ky acknowledged the risk of negative reactions, even accusations of "favoritism" if there was any personal connection. However, she considered it an inevitable part of the process. "The responsibility of the head judge is to ensure fairness based on a clear scoring system. The result is the collective effort of a group, not a personal decision."
Ly Nha Ky stated that she has a "shield" of impartiality and credibility to face any negative reactions. The biggest pressure is to be fair to the efforts of the contestants, and she believes that time will be the fairest answer for those who deserve it.
