Astronauts share their experiences of living in space.
The biggest highlight is the "Astronaut Talk Show" on the morning of May 28th, at the Party Committee Hall of Vi Thanh Ward. Former astronauts will connect via the Space Virtual Tour platform, introducing the International Space Station (ISS), where humans live and work more than 400km above the Earth, along with ongoing research in space on Earth protection, climate change response, and extraterrestrial life. The program will be streamed online to various locations at the People's Committees of communes and wards throughout the city and provinces in the Mekong Delta region. This means that students in Hau Giang, Soc Trang, or Kien Giang can still listen to the astronauts share their experiences, ask questions, and participate in interactive online games. Also during the Talk Show, the Artemis II mission, NASA's program to return humans to the Moon, will be introduced, opening up a vision of the future of aerospace, a field in which today's young generation can become a part.

A whole day of experiencing science and technology.
From 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM on May 28th, the Hau Giang Innovation and Technology Incubation Center (ISC) in Vi Tan ward will transform into a true "science park." A STEM competition for junior high school, high school, and university students will be held, featuring three live competition categories: Robotics (robot programming), Drone (drone control), and Bakery ( culinary creativity combined with STEM thinking). This is an opportunity for young people to not only test their knowledge but also showcase their creativity, teamwork skills, and ability to apply technology to practical situations.
Besides the competition, a series of exciting experiential activities await: assembling LEGO spaceships with the theme "Build to Launch"; watching science films using special STEMDOME technology; participating in Magic Floor and Magic Wall; high-tech interactive games; experiencing "A Day as an Astronaut" and "Saving the Earth". Especially, VR/AR virtual reality glasses will take the children on an astronomical journey right on the spot, something most students in the Mekong Delta have never seen before.
On the same day, from 1 PM to 5 PM, the EdTech Day brought together EdTech solutions and products from the United States, the United Kingdom, and many other countries. This was a rare opportunity for teachers and parents to access advanced global educational trends right here in Can Tho. In the evening, the "Starry Night" program, from 7 PM to 9 PM, offered a realistic night sky observation experience with astronomy experts and former astronauts, beautifully concluding a day filled with scientific inspiration.

100 scholarships to help dreams take flight.
The most profound humanitarian aspect of the event was the awarding of 100 scholarships, each worth 2 million VND, in two phases. Phase 1, on the afternoon of May 27th, awarded 20 scholarships to disadvantaged high school students in schools located in the former Soc Trang province, held at Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Specialized High School. Phase 2, on the morning of May 28th, awarded an additional 80 scholarships: 40 to students in Can Tho and Hau Giang (formerly), and 40 specifically for students of Can Tho University and Can Tho University of Technology. The awarding of scholarships within the framework of the science and technology event conveyed a clear message: knowledge and opportunity belong to everyone. Regardless of background or circumstances, with willpower and aspiration, the door to the future remains wide open.
Vietnam Space Week 2026 is organized within the framework of implementing Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in the development of science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation. Choosing Can Tho, the center of the Mekong Delta, as the venue sends a clear message: access to science and technology is no longer the exclusive privilege of large cities.
The night sky in the Mekong Delta is typically clear and full of stars. The Vietnam Space Week 2026 is coming to Can Tho to remind the younger generation of a simple yet profound truth: those stars are not just for gazing at — they are the destination, and the journey begins today.
