According to MacRumors , the number of innovations in the updates is minimal, as Apple mainly fixes previously identified bugs. Apple said in the iOS 17.3.1 and iPadOS 17.3.1 details that the update includes bug fixes, including a fix for when “text may unexpectedly duplicate or overlap while typing,” helping users type more accurately.
Compatible iPhone users can now download the iOS 17.3.1 update
A similar bug was fixed with the release of Apple macOS 14.3.1 after users of the platform reported unexpected text when typing. The bug occurred on websites, when working with Mail and instant messages. The problem persisted for several months and affected several versions of macOS Sonoma.
Apple also fixed a few bugs in watchOS 10.3.1, although the company didn't say which ones. It also added new watch faces for its smartwatches with the update. Users can force the latest updates in the appropriate sections of their device settings. In some cases, users should make sure their battery is charged above 50%.
iOS 17.3.1 is said to be the latest major update to iOS 17.3 that came out just a few weeks ago to introduce the Stolen Device Protection feature, which includes additional security measures when performing sensitive operations on the device.
To update iOS 17.3.1 for compatible iPhones, users can go to the Settings app, select General and tap Software Update.
