Apple has just announced the official slogan for this year's event, "All systems glow," a play on words based on the familiar phrase "all systems go." This choice of wording is not random. According to leaked images, iOS 27 will feature many new updates, including a Siri interface in Dynamic Island with the "Search or Ask" text and a glowing cursor, which perfectly matches the word "glow" in the slogan.

This year's focus is expected to be heavily concentrated on AI, as Apple strives to address delays related to Siri and Apple Intelligence. Apple plans to launch a completely new, dedicated Siri app with extensions on iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27. This will allow users to interact with the assistant via both voice and text, and also view their entire conversation history.

Another notable point is that users can choose the AI model to power features on iOS 27, including Gemini, Claude, or ChatGPT. Currently, ChatGPT is the foundation for an enhanced Siri experience if users enable this feature.

The Siri improvements promised at WWDC 2024 have been delayed. However, the partnership signed with Google in January to integrate the Gemini model into the Apple ecosystem is expected to bring these advanced features to market this year.

At WWDC 2026, Apple is expected to simultaneously introduce iOS 27, iPadOS 27, macOS 27, watchOS 27, tvOS 27, and visionOS 27. The iOS 27 update includes a customizable camera app, numerous bug fixes, and design improvements to Liquid Glass based on user feedback.

iOS 27 also lays the groundwork for the iPhone Fold, Apple's first foldable smartphone, expected to launch in September. This device supports running two apps simultaneously, with an iPad-like screen layout when open and a standard iPhone layout when closed.

The Mac Studio is expected to be upgraded to the M5 Max and M5 Ultra chips, while the Mac mini line will retain the standard configuration with the M5 and M5 Pro chips. However, a global RAM shortage may push the release of some Mac models back to later this year.

WWDC 2026 also holds special significance as it may be the last developer conference under CEO Tim Cook's leadership before John Ternus takes over on September 1st. The developer beta of iOS 27 is expected to be released shortly after the keynote speech on June 8th, while the official version will be launched in the fall.
