Immediately after Thanh Hoa officially secured their place in the league, on the morning of June 2nd, the 2024 ASEAN Cup champion bid farewell, ending their six-season journey with the Thanh Hoa team.

The day before, Thanh Hoa suffered a 0-3 defeat against Ninh Binh in Round 25 of the V.League 2025/26. However, being 5 points ahead of PVF-CAND with only one round remaining in the season helped them secure their survival in the league.

Immediately after the match, captain Doan Ngoc Tan confirmed his departure from the club. He emotionally sent a message to his teammates: “After this season, Tan will no longer be in Thanh Hoa with you all. I wish you all good health and success. Wherever I am, Tan will always follow and cherish the moments we shared together.”

By the afternoon of June 1st, the midfielder born in 1994 officially packed his bags and left the team. His next destination has not yet been revealed, but with his persistent and professional playing spirit, Ngoc Tan still receives interest from many teams despite being 32 years old.

Wearing the Thanh Hoa jersey, he won 2 National Cups (2023, 2023/24) and 1 National Super Cup in 2023. This season, Ngoc Tan played in 17 matches, including 16 starts. In 2024, he was called up to the Vietnamese national team for the first time under coach Kim Sang-sik. In this tournament, the Golden Star Warriors won the championship. After that, Doan Ngoc Tan continuously participated in the Vietnamese national team's campaigns.
