Apple and NVIDIA may invest in OpenAI.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Apple, which plans to integrate ChatGPT into its iOS operating system, is in talks to invest in OpenAI. Bloomberg subsequently reported that Apple is also in talks to invest in OpenAI, and that NVIDIA has also "discussed" participating in OpenAI's funding round. In this funding round, the company that owns ChatGPT is valued at over $100 billion.

According to The Verge , it's perhaps not surprising that Apple and NVIDIA may invest in OpenAI. Apple is preparing to integrate ChatGPT into its Siri virtual assistant app later this year and is reportedly planning to appoint representatives to OpenAI's board of directors. Meanwhile, NVIDIA is a chip supplier for OpenAI's artificial intelligence applications.

According to Bloomberg, Microsoft is also in negotiations to participate in this new funding round. In 2019, Microsoft invested $1 billion in OpenAI, and then invested billions more in 2023.
