"Hopefully this is just a temporary farewell; I will always consider Madrid my home," coach Arbeloa shared, emphasizing his deep love for the club, which he considers his second family throughout his career.
Despite acknowledging that his current phase is coming to an end, the former defender maintains a highly competitive spirit. He stated ahead of the match against Athletic Bilbao on May 24th: "I will try to enjoy it, while still aiming for victory."
When asked about his future and rumors surrounding Jose Mourinho's return to manage Real Madrid, Arbeloa frankly dismissed the possibility of collaborating with "The Special One" on the same project.
He argued that Mourinho always has his own team and wouldn't change the familiar personnel structure: "If Mourinho comes, he will bring his team with him. There's no chance I'll work with him."
Looking ahead, Arbeloa expressed optimism after his time at Valdebebas. He affirmed that he had dedicated the past three months entirely to Real Madrid, but now it's time to think more about himself and the next steps in his career.
Arbeloa was promoted from the youth team to manage Real Madrid from January 2026, after the club parted ways with coach Xabi Alonso. However, the results were not as expected, with no trophies won, so Arbeloa could not continue his association with "Los Blancos".
