Arsenal 1-1 Man City: Dramatic injury time

Building on the confidence of last season's 5-1 home win over Man City, Arsenal pushed up their formation right after the opening whistle and enjoyed 77% possession.

While still struggling to find a way to approach Gianluigi Donnarumma's goal, the home team was doused with cold water by conceding a goal in the 8th minute. Erling Haaland sparked a counter-attack by Man City. He also rushed forward, received a pass from Tijjani Reijnders and shot diagonally, beating David Raya in a one-on-one situation. Gabriel had rushed too high, leaving a wide gap for one of the best strikers in the world right now.

Haaland scored his 6th Premier League goal this season. This was also his 21st goal in just 20 London derbies. Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham and Crystal Palace have all been scored against by the striker born in 2000 3 times.

After conceding the goal, Man City retreated and played as the underdog. Arsenal had a lot of possession but no notable combinations and could only rely on set pieces. Gianluigi Donnarumma completely controlled the 5.5m area, making the home team's crosses from the flanks ineffective.

In the second half, Bukayo Saka and Eberechi Eze came on and helped the home team's attack improve. The red and white teams created a series of chances but Donnarumma still played with concentration. In the 48th minute, the Italian goalkeeper chose the right position to block Martin Zubimedi's long-range shot.

In the 57th minute, Man City almost decided the match with a counter-attack. Haaland had another good chance but this time he could not bring home a goal.
