According to Football Insider , this is a move to balance the squad after the explosive summer transfer window. The Gunners brought in 8 new players, helping to significantly increase the squad depth and avoid running out of steam at the end of the season.
The arrival of new faces means that manager Mikel Arteta must consider moving some unsuitable players. Gabriel Jesus is recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury and is expected to return later this year. But when he does return, the Brazilian risks being third choice in attack, behind new signing Viktor Gyokeres and Kai Havertz.
Earlier this summer, Jesus was linked with a return to Palmeiras, but injury has scuppered the deal. With a contract running until 2027, Arsenal are confident they can recoup a reasonable fee if they sell him in January 2026 or next summer.
Meanwhile, Trossard’s case has also attracted attention. The Belgian striker has just extended his contract until 2027 with a significant salary increase, but he is no longer sure of a starting position in Arteta’s system.
Besiktas had offered to buy Trossard after the English transfer market closed, but Arsenal refused because they wanted to keep their squad until at least January 2026. However, the "Gunners" are ready to listen to offers in the winter if Trossard wants to change clubs.
