This famous cartoon character still has timeless appeal.
To celebrate its 75th anniversary, Onitsuka Tiger unveiled its first collaboration with Osamu Tezuka's Astro Boy, which is also celebrating its 100th anniversary. The first animated adaptation was released in 1963, marking Japan's first animated television series. Even today, Astro Boy remains an icon of popular culture in Japan.
With this collaboration, Onitsuka Tiger will incorporate the original Astro Boy logo and design into its extensive product line. The collection includes a total of 43 items, including tracksuits , shirts, hoodies, accessories, and two shoe styles.
One of the highlights of the launch was the DENTIGRE PUFF BOOT and the MEXICO 66 SD sneaker. The former boasts the DENTIGRE’s signature chunky ankle-length silhouette, complete with a distinctly chunky outsole. Dressed in a bold red, the boot also serves as a nod to the iconic red boots worn by the titular hero robot. As for the MEXICO 66 SD, the model is offered in three different colorways. Ranging from fiery red, asphalt grey to solid black, the shoes each have their own color palette. The red colorway is adorned with a flame design, while the other two styles are adorned with Atom and Astro Boy logo embroidery.
