A series of key transport projects started in May
The Ministry of Transport has asked project management boards to urgently complete procedures to start construction of three key transport projects in May 2025, including the expansion of the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway, the Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway and the My An - Cao Lanh expressway. Units must complete the selection of contractors to ensure the set progress.
Expanding La Son - Hoa Lien highway to 4 lanes
The La Son - Hoa Lien expressway project, passing through Thua Thien Hue province and Da Nang city, will be expanded from 2 to 4 lanes with a total investment of 3,010 billion VND. The route is 65 km long, with the starting point connecting to Cam Lo - La Son expressway in La Son town (Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue) and the end point at Hoa Lien intersection (Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city).
Technically, the project will utilize the existing 12 bridges on the route that have been built with a scale of 4 lanes. At the same time, 50 other bridges will be newly built or expanded to synchronize the scale of 4 lanes on the entire route.

Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway (Phase 1)
The Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway project starts at the intersection with National Highway 1, directly connecting with the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway, located in Dau Giay town, Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai province. The end point of the project is located in Phu Trung commune, Tan Phu district, Dong Nai province.
In phase 1, the expressway will be invested and built with a scale of 4 lanes, a roadbed width of 17 m. Sections with emergency lanes and bridge works will be built to a complete scale with a roadbed width of 24 m. Site clearance work will also be carried out according to this complete scale. The total investment of the project is more than 8,980 billion VND in the form of public-private partnership (PPP).
My An - Cao Lanh Expressway
The Cao Lanh - My An Expressway is nearly 27 km long, located entirely in Dong Thap province. The project starts at the connection with route N2 in My An town (Thap Muoi district) and ends at the An Binh intersection, right at the beginning of Cao Lanh bridge.
Phase 1 of the project is divided into investment phases with a 17 m wide roadbed, 4 lanes, a design speed of 100 km/h and emergency stops arranged intermittently. Site clearance will be carried out according to the 6-lane plan to facilitate future expansion. The total investment for phase 1 is nearly 6,130 billion VND, of which ODA loan from the Korean Government is about 4,460 billion VND and counterpart capital from the state budget is about 1,665 billion VND.
Other infrastructure projects are also being accelerated.
In addition to the above projects, the Ninh Cuong bridge project across the Ninh Co River on National Highway 37B is expected to start construction in June. The project is 1.65 km long, with 2 lanes for motor vehicles and 2 lanes for mixed vehicles, with a total investment of more than 581 billion VND from ODA loans from Korea.
In addition, the Ministry of Transport also directed relevant units to complete approval procedures for the Cam Lo - La Son expressway expansion project in April and prepare procedures for the expansion of the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway in May, aiming to start construction in the early third quarter of 2025.
