A series of key transportation projects will commence in May.
The Ministry of Transport has requested project management boards to urgently complete procedures to commence construction on three key transport projects in May 2025, including the expansion of the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway, the Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway, and the My An - Cao Lanh expressway. The units must finalize contractor selection to ensure the set schedule is met.
Expanding the La Son - Hoa Lien expressway to 4 lanes.
The La Son - Hoa Lien expressway project, passing through Thua Thien Hue province and Da Nang city, will be expanded from 2 to 4 lanes with a total investment of 3,010 billion VND. The route is 65 km long, with its starting point connecting to the Cam Lo - La Son expressway in La Son town (Phu Loc district, Thua Thien Hue province) and its end point at the Hoa Lien interchange (Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city).
Technically, the project will utilize the existing 12 bridges along the route, which are already built with 4 lanes. Simultaneously, 50 more bridges will be constructed or expanded to ensure uniform 4-lane capacity across the entire route.

Dau Giay - Tan Phu Expressway (Phase 1)
The Dau Giay - Tan Phu expressway project starts at the intersection with National Highway 1, directly connecting to the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay expressway, in Dau Giay town, Thong Nhat district, Dong Nai province. The end point of the project is located in Phu Trung commune, Tan Phu district, Dong Nai province.
In Phase 1, the expressway will be constructed with 4 lanes and a roadbed width of 17 meters. Sections with emergency stopping lanes and bridges will be built to full scale with a roadbed width of 24 meters. Land acquisition will also be carried out to this full scale. The total investment for the project is over 8,980 billion VND under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.
My An - Cao Lanh Expressway
The Cao Lanh - My An expressway is nearly 27 km long and is located entirely within Dong Thap province. The project's starting point connects with the N2 route in My An town (Thap Muoi district) and its end point is at the An Binh interchange, right at the beginning of the Cao Lanh bridge.
Phase 1 of the project is divided into investment phases, with a roadbed width of 17 meters, a scale of 4 lanes, a design speed of 100 km/h, and intermittently arranged emergency stopping sections. Land acquisition will be carried out according to the 6-lane plan to facilitate future expansion. The total investment for Phase 1 is nearly 6,130 billion VND, of which approximately 4,460 billion VND is ODA loan from the South Korean government and approximately 1,665 billion VND is counterpart funding from the state budget.
Other infrastructure projects are also being accelerated.
In addition to the above projects, the Ninh Cuong bridge project across the Ninh Co River on National Highway 37B is expected to commence in June. The project will be 1.65 km long, with 2 lanes for motorized vehicles and 2 lanes for mixed traffic, and a total investment of over 581 billion VND from ODA loans from South Korea.
In addition, the Ministry of Transport also directed relevant units to complete the approval procedures for the Cam Lo - La Son expressway expansion project in April and prepare procedures for the expansion of the Ho Chi Minh City - Trung Luong - My Thuan expressway in May, aiming for commencement of construction in early Q3/2025.
