The Prime Minister directed to resolutely speed up the progress of key transport projects.

On the morning of December 9, the Government held an online conference of the 22nd meeting of the State Steering Committee for important national projects and works with 29/34 localities with ongoing projects. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh, Head of the Steering Committee, chaired the conference. Attending at the Thai Nguyen province bridge was comrade Bui Van Luong, member of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

In his opening speech, the Prime Minister requested the Ministry of Construction to report on the implementation of the conclusions at the 21st meeting, and propose solutions to consider and inaugurate a number of projects on December 19, along with proposals to reward units that have completed their tasks well.

The Prime Minister also requested ministries, branches and localities to make the greatest efforts to complete the goal of putting 3,000km of expressways into operation in 2025. The Prime Minister shared the difficulties with localities and contractors affected by the recent natural disasters, and emphasized the need to urgently refocus as soon as the weather conditions are favorable, ensuring the committed progress.

At the Conference, ministries, branches and localities reported on the implementation situation, clearly stating the results achieved and difficulties that need to be resolved. Up to now, units and localities have only completed 11/28 tasks assigned at the meeting on November 8, 2025, related to removing obstacles for expressway projects in the 3,000km list and speeding up investment preparation procedures to serve the groundbreaking and inauguration on December 19. According to the Ministry of Construction, by 2025, the whole country strives to put into use 3,000km of expressways and 1,700km of coastal roads.

In Thai Nguyen, there are currently 3 important national projects being implemented, including: Ho Chi Minh Road project, Cho Chu - Trung Son Intersection section, with a total investment of 1,665 billion VND, nearly 29km long, of which 12.24km through Thai Nguyen, the province has handed over 100% of the land; Cho Moi - Bac Kan route project, invested by Project Management Board 2, 28.8km long, with a total investment of over 5,750 billion VND, has handed over over 91% of the land, disbursement reached over 83%; Bac Kan - Cao Bang expressway project invested by Cao Bang province is in the preparation stage, Thai Nguyen province is coordinating to implement in accordance with regulations.

Concluding the Conference, the Prime Minister welcomed the sense of responsibility of ministries, branches, localities and contractors, especially during the recent storms and floods, and emphasized the spirit of "only discussing forward, not backward", requiring the entire system to continue to act decisively, fully review procedures according to legal regulations to inaugurate projects on schedule, ensuring that projects are put into use with maximum efficiency.

Along with that, units and localities are directed to implement fair rewards, without distinction between state-owned or private enterprises; the Prime Minister assigned the Ministry of Construction to review and propose the selection of contractors with sufficient capacity and experience, completing projects on schedule to consider assigning the next major projects in accordance with regulations...
