Promoting the application of advanced equipment in mechanical production

In recent years, the flow of investment capital into the industrial sector in Thai Nguyen has been constantly increasing, leading to the emergence of many factories and mechanical manufacturing facilities. In the context of technological innovation becoming an urgent requirement, through industrial promotion resources, Thai Nguyen province has supported and added motivation to help businesses and mechanical manufacturing facilities improve their competitiveness.

The working group from the Department of Industry and Trade inspected and accepted the machinery provided as part of the industrial promotion project.

Thai Nguyen has an early-formed supporting industrial foundation, associated with the iron and steel industry and mechanical manufacturing facilities in Song Cong Industrial Park. However, facing the strong movement of the 4.0 Industrial Revolution, the mechanical industry requires faster and stronger progress.

Automation technology, smart equipment, and precision machining solutions are becoming fundamental criteria for businesses wanting to participate in modern production chains. Recognizing this, the Department of Industry and Trade of Thai Nguyen province has proactively implemented numerous support programs to encourage businesses to confidently adopt advanced machinery.

According to Mr. Duong Van Hoan, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, the mechanical engineering sector has always been among the priority areas in the province's industrial promotion policy. Each year, the Department of Industry and Trade advises on the allocation of focused support resources to help mechanical engineering establishments upgrade their production lines and improve product quality. In 2025 alone, the province approved 16 industrial promotion projects (Phase 1) with a total support budget of over 2.6 billion VND; among them, two projects directly relate to investing in equipment for mechanical engineering establishments.

Entrusted with implementing the projects, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Center for Industrial Promotion and Development Consulting coordinated with businesses to select suitable equipment. At Hoang Trieu Steel Structure Co., Ltd. (Bach Quang Ward), the Center provided 210 million VND in support for the company to invest in a fiber laser cutting machine worth over 2 billion VND. At the same time, Tung Ha Trading, Service and Production Co., Ltd. (Trai Cau Commune) also received 210 million VND in support to invest in a laser cutting machine worth 726 million VND.

Mr. Vu Duy Tung, Director of Tung Ha Trading, Service and Production Company Limited (Trai Cau commune), said: Investing in laser machines helps to cut workpieces quickly and accurately, efficiently handling tasks, saving labor costs, reducing material waste, significantly improving productivity, and better controlling the quality of each mechanical product leaving the factory.

Beyond simply providing financial support, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Center for Industrial Promotion and Development Consulting also accompanies businesses throughout the entire project implementation process. From on-site surveys and technology needs assessments to cost estimation, guidance on legal documentation, and progress monitoring, everything is carried out systematically and transparently. After acceptance, many businesses have assessed that the results far exceed the initial investment value.

Funding from the industrial promotion program has helped many businesses and mechanical manufacturing facilities in Thai Nguyen invest in machinery and improve their production capacity.

Mr. Nguyen Hai Hoa, Director of Hoang Trieu Steel Structure Co., Ltd. (Bach Quang Ward), shared: "During the implementation process, industrial promotion officers always accompanied and advised us very attentively, helping us access and operate new technologies effectively. For small and medium-sized enterprises with limited resources, the support for machinery investment is extremely valuable, creating conditions to improve productivity, quality, and competitiveness of products."

Experience from beneficiary businesses shows that the equipment invested under the project consists of new-generation machinery with high levels of automation, stable operation, and energy efficiency. The new machinery has significantly reduced labor costs, minimized errors in machining, and increased production speed for mechanical manufacturing businesses and facilities. Many units have also expanded their customer base and secured higher-value orders because they can now meet complex technical specifications that were previously impossible to achieve. Some facilities have seen a 10-20% increase in revenue within just a few months of operating the modern equipment.

Beyond economic benefits, industrial promotion projects also create positive social impacts. As businesses expand and receive more orders, the demand for labor increases, helping to create more stable jobs for local people. Simultaneously, the application of new technologies improves the working environment and reduces strenuous and hazardous tasks for workers.

Representatives from the Center for Industrial Promotion and Development Consulting assessed that, despite modest support resources, the implemented projects have yielded clear results, creating a "boost" for businesses to confidently invest in more modern machinery. This is also a direction consistent with the province's goals for developing supporting industries.

In the coming period, the Center for Industrial Promotion and Development Consulting will continue to review the needs of mechanical engineering enterprises, prioritizing support for units with a focus on technological innovation and the development of high-quality products. Simultaneously, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will strengthen connections and guide businesses in accessing preferential capital sources, trade promotion programs, and models for applying new technologies in mechanical processing.

With significant progress in accessing modern equipment, the mechanical engineering industry in Thai Nguyen is gradually improving its position and participating more deeply in the province's and region's production chain. The proactive investment of businesses, coupled with supportive policies, will be the foundation for the sustainable development of Thai Nguyen's mechanical engineering industry in the coming years.
