On June 7, Ba Che district organized a field workshop to evaluate the results of the experimental planting model and introduce the new rice variety J02.
The experimental planting model of the new rice variety J02 was deployed on an area of 20 hectares of land, with 102 households in Lang Mo village and Tan Tien village, Don Dac commune, participating. After more than 4 months of experimental planting, the entire area of 20 hectares of J02 rice has been harvested. Through model evaluation, it was shown that the J02 rice variety grows strongly, tillers well, is easy to cultivate, has a high percentage of solid grains, and yields higher than some popular rice varieties in the locality.
The growth period of J02 rice variety is 7-10 days longer than that of mass-produced varieties; the plant phenotype is compact, hard stem, erect flag leaves, large and long leaves, dark green, large, round, bright yellow grains, large and short panicles; low rate of empty grains; soft, fragrant, delicious rice; has an average yield of 1.46 quintals/ha higher than the average yield of mass-produced varieties; the total revenue of 1ha of J02 rice is 1.2 times higher and the profit is 3.2 times higher than the average of other varieties.
The above results confirm that the experimental planting model of J02 rice variety was successful and this rice variety is completely suitable for local climate, soil and cultivation conditions; qualified for replication in Don Dac commune in particular and Ba Che district in general.
