According to forecasts, tomorrow (May 28th), the heatwave will gradually subside, with temperatures in many provinces and cities in Northern Vietnam dropping to 35-37 degrees Celsius, and few places exceeding 38 degrees Celsius. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected in Northern Vietnam from late afternoon to night.
Regarding the heatwave, the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting stated that today (May 27th), the Northern region, the area from Thanh Hoa to Da Nang City, the eastern parts of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa will experience intense heat, with temperatures at 1 PM generally ranging from 37-39 degrees Celsius, and some places experiencing exceptionally intense heat above 39 degrees Celsius, such as: Lang ( Hanoi City) 39.4 degrees Celsius, Ha Nam (Ninh Binh) 39.2 degrees Celsius, Tinh Gia (Thanh Hoa) 39.4 degrees Celsius, Con Cuong (Nghe An) 39.6 degrees Celsius, Huong Khe (Ha Tinh) 39.4 degrees Celsius…, with relative humidity at 1 PM generally ranging from 45-50%.
On May 28th, the Northern region (excluding Lai Chau and Dien Bien ) experienced hot weather, with some areas experiencing intense heat. The highest temperatures were generally 35-37 degrees Celsius, with some places exceeding 38 degrees Celsius; the lowest relative humidity was generally 50-55%.
The area from Thanh Hoa to Hue City is experiencing intense heat, with some places experiencing exceptionally severe heat, with maximum temperatures commonly ranging from 37-39 degrees Celsius, and some places exceeding 39 degrees Celsius; the lowest relative humidity is commonly between 45-50%.
The South Central coastal region is experiencing hot and intensely hot weather with maximum temperatures commonly ranging from 36-38 degrees Celsius, and exceeding 38 degrees Celsius in some areas; the lowest relative humidity is commonly between 50-55%.

Warning of natural disaster risk level due to heatwave: Level 1.

Today (May 27th), the Northern Delta region, Phu Tho province, and the area from Thanh Hoa to Hue City will experience intense and exceptionally intense heat with maximum temperatures commonly ranging from 38-40 degrees Celsius, and exceeding 40 degrees Celsius in some places.
From May 29th, the heatwave in Northern and North Central Vietnam will end. From May 30th, the widespread heatwave in the provinces from Quang Tri to Da Nang City and the eastern parts of the provinces from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak will also end.
The meteorological agency noted that, due to the influence of hot weather, intense heat, and exceptionally intense heat combined with low humidity, there is a high risk of explosions and fires in residential areas due to increased electricity demand, and a risk of forest fires.
In addition, hot weather can cause dehydration in the human body when exposed to high temperatures for extended periods.
The temperature forecast in heatwave reports and the actual perceived temperature outdoors can differ by 2-4 degrees Celsius, or even more, depending on surface conditions such as concrete or asphalt.
