Bac Ha tightens market inspection

This year’s festival is expected to attract hundreds of thousands of visitors to experience unique cultural, sports and tourism activities in the mountainous district of Bac Ha. Ensuring safety and service quality at business establishments is of particular concern to local authorities.

Bac Ha district currently has 122 accommodation establishments, including 11 hotels with 1 to 3 star standards, 43 motels, 66 homestay service establishments and 2 farmstays. Along with that are 912 food production, processing and trading establishments, of which 341 establishments belong to the group of food service and collective kitchens.

Many businesses in the area have proactively prepared resources, improved facilities and enhanced service quality to be ready to welcome guests during the festival. In addition to fully stocking ingredients and food, the establishments have focused on hygiene, ensuring food safety, clearly posting prices, and organizing training on service skills and basic communication for employees. Some restaurants and eateries have also implemented bilingual menus and designed spaces suitable for family groups and international guests.

Mr. Luc Van Tuong, owner of a restaurant in Bac Ha town, said: “My restaurant has prepared all the ingredients and food with clear origins and has been checked for food hygiene and safety before being processed. Prices are publicly listed so that visitors can feel secure.”

Similarly, hotels and homestays have also upgraded and repaired their facilities, increased service promotion and organized staff to serve the festival. Many units have invested in more modern equipment such as air conditioners, water heaters, renovated private restrooms and redecorated the room space. In addition, the establishments have also promoted communication on social networks, linked with travel agencies to attract customers, and arranged staff to be on duty, advise on tourist attractions, local cuisine and support transportation.

Mr. Pham Son Tung, manager of a hotel in Bac Ha shared: “We check and maintain the entire room system, replace broken equipment. Staff are assigned to be on duty 24/7 to assist guests in moving, exploring destinations and experiencing local cuisine.”

Since the beginning of April, Market Management Team No. 3 has stepped up inspections at accommodation establishments, restaurants, and grocery stores in Bac Ha district. The inspections focus on business conditions, price posting, food safety, and prevention of counterfeit and poor quality goods.

Mr. Le Duc Quang, an officer of Market Management Team No. 3, said: “We are determined to strictly handle violations such as illegal price increases, selling goods of unknown origin, and not ensuring food hygiene and safety. These are violations that can directly affect the rights and safety of consumers.”

In addition, the authorities also coordinate with local authorities to strengthen propaganda to businesses and people about strictly complying with regulations in business and serving tourists .

This year’s Bac Ha White Plateau Festival is a key cultural and tourism event, attracting the attention of a large number of visitors from within and outside the province. The proactive preparation of the Bac Ha government and people not only ensures service quality, but also creates the image of a civilized and safe destination.
