At the meeting, the Command Board approved documents and plans to respond to storm No. 9, including the decision to establish 6 response teams in 6 former communes, to strengthen local forces and ensure quick and effective direction in each area.
During the discussion, many opinions focused on the issue of providing facilities for storm and flood prevention, and plans to ensure communication and power grid in the event of prolonged storms. In particular, delegates also drew on many experiences from storm No. 3 ( Yagi ), especially the landslides and flooding in some villages and hamlets, thereby recommending to strengthen early warning and arrange forces to guard at high-risk locations.
In his speech, comrade Nguyen Duy Hoa - Secretary of the Commune Party Committee emphasized: the entire local political system must be proactive and urgent, absolutely not negligent or subjective. He requested that the sectors and villages strictly implement the directive documents and telegrams of the Provincial People's Committee Chairman, develop specific and realistic plans; promptly inform and report when there are unusual developments, and step up propaganda to raise people's awareness of storm prevention and avoidance.
Concluding the meeting, comrade Bui Minh Hai, Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Ha commune, requested members of the Command Committee, response teams in localities and villages to seriously implement the agreed plan; clearly assign tasks, fully prepare materials and equipment, be ready to respond in all situations with the spirit of not being passive or surprised by storms; set the highest goal of protecting the safety of people's lives and property, minimizing damage caused by natural disasters.
