Bac Ninh: Many highland communes flooded due to heavy rain.

BAC NINH - From last night to this morning (August 21), heavy to very heavy rain fell in several mountainous communes in the province such as Son Dong, Dai Son, Yen Dinh, Tuan Dao, Tay Yen Tu… causing flooding in many areas.

According to quick reports from local areas, as of 6:00 AM on August 21st, 16 out of 16 culverts in 3 villages of Tay Yen Tu commune were flooded, causing localized isolation; traffic routes in the area are at high risk of landslides.

Rising floodwaters have inundated many areas in Tuan Dao commune.

Currently, water has flooded the homes of several households in Thong Nhat village and the risk of further flooding remains. The commune's Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue Command has urgently assisted residents in implementing flood response measures based on the "four on-the-spot" principle.

In the communes of Son Dong, Yen Dinh, Tuan Dao, Dai Son, etc., floodwaters are rising rapidly. Local authorities have quickly informed residents to proactively take response measures; mobilizing forces to assist households living in areas along rivers and streams, and areas at risk of landslides, to temporarily relocate people and property to safe places.

Deep flooding occurred in the center of An Chau commune.

By 7 a.m., several sections of National Highway 31 and Provincial Road 291 had experienced landslides, with the risk of further damage. Local leaders are urgently coordinating with relevant agencies to mobilize forces for remediation efforts.

Traffic in Nghẽo village, Tuấn Đạo commune, is disrupted due to heavy rain and flooding.

As of now, the communes are focusing on responding to the floods; no casualties have been reported.
