Final article: Strengthening the "fortress" of the grassroots

(DTO) To maintain ideological stability in the digital age, a synchronized effort from the entire political system and society is needed. When each grassroots Party organization is truly strong, each cadre and Party member plays a core role in propaganda and public opinion guidance, and each citizen becomes a proactive and vigilant information "shield," it will create solid ideological "fortresses" from the grassroots level.

EACH PARTY BRANCH IS A “DIGITAL FORTRESS”

In the context of the widespread digital transformation reaching every residential area, neighborhood, hamlet, and village, the work of Party building at the grassroots level has undergone significant changes in both thinking and methods of operation.

From primarily carrying out ideological work through traditional meetings and conferences, many grassroots Party branches have proactively "taken a step ahead" in cyberspace, gradually forming solid "digital fortresses".

The Party cell of neighborhood 22, Dao Thanh ward, has implemented many solutions to support digital transformation, contributing to improving the efficiency of management and services for people in the area.

It is noteworthy that this change is not merely superficial or driven by technological trends, but stems from the practical demands of contemporary social life.

Therefore, grassroots Party committees proactively grasping public opinion on the internet and strengthening interaction with people through digital platforms have contributed to improving the effectiveness of ideological work in the new situation.

In reality, many grassroots Party branches have flexibly innovated the content and form of their activities in a practical, people-oriented direction. The Zalo groups of neighborhoods, hamlets, villages, and political and social organizations are no longer simply channels for exchanging administrative information, but are becoming a "digital bridge" between the Party and the people.

From disseminating new policies and warning about online scams to receiving feedback and addressing concerns from the grassroots, all information is processed more quickly and promptly than before.

Simultaneously, the role of community-based digital technology teams is increasingly being affirmed. Not only do they support citizens in accessing online public services, but they also help improve skills in using social media safely, identifying harmful and toxic information, and contributing to narrowing the "digital divide" between different population groups.

Comrade Nguyen Thi Lieu, Party Branch Secretary and Head of Ward 22, Dao Thanh Ward, said: "Currently, most people use smartphones and social media."

The Party cell of Ward 22 always emphasizes that each cadre and Party member must be an active propagandist on the internet to provide official information, information from the ward and province in a timely manner, while also contributing to guiding public opinion among the people. Sometimes, residents don't wait for neighborhood meetings to raise issues, but instead send messages directly through the neighborhood's Zalo group."

"In the coming time, the Party Branch of Ward 22 will continue to innovate and improve the quality of Party branch activities through the application of the 'Electronic Party Member Handbook'; at the same time, strengthen propaganda and guidance on digital skills for people, especially the elderly, to help everyone use social media safely and access official information more effectively..." - Comrade Nguyen Thi Lieu further shared.

In My Phong ward, the community digital technology group model is proving highly effective in supporting residents' access to a safe and healthy digital environment.

Comrade Nguyen Van Phuoc, Party Secretary and Head of My Luong neighborhood, My Phong ward, shared: “The establishment of the Community Digital Technology Team has created an additional ‘soft shield’ to help people access technology safely and correctly, limiting their susceptibility to being misled by unverified information sources.”

The positive aspect now is that people have gradually changed their habits in accessing information. While many people used to be hesitant about technology, they are now proactively interacting and expressing their opinions through digital platforms…”.

EACH PARTY MEMBER IS A “CORE”

If the Party branch is a "digital fortress," then each Party member is a "nucleus" spreading awareness, responsibility, and ethical conduct in cyberspace.

Therefore, innovating the methods of protecting the Party's ideological foundation in conjunction with digital transformation is not simply about applying technology in a formal way, but more importantly, about leveraging technology to extend the "arm" of management, promptly grasp public opinion, guide information, and strengthen ties with the people.

However, the core factor determining effectiveness remains the political acumen, sense of responsibility, and pioneering and exemplary role of each official and Party member.

Therefore, the current requirement is not only to perform professional duties well, but also to build an image of cadres and Party members with exemplary conduct in cyberspace.

This is demonstrated by proactively accessing information from official sources, carefully verifying it before sharing, and actively spreading positive information and good values within the workplace, family, and community.

That spirit is spreading strongly among youth union members at the grassroots level. Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Hieu, Secretary of the Youth Union of Dao Thanh Ward, said that in addition to gathering union members, the Zalo group "Dao Thanh Youth" is also identified as a soft propaganda channel, helping to guide young people's awareness in the face of conflicting information on social media.

According to Comrade Nguyen Ngoc Hieu, young people today access information very quickly but are also easily influenced by unverified content online. Therefore, the Youth Union must proactively take a step ahead, regularly sharing official information, positive stories, and guiding members on how to identify fake news and behave civilly in cyberspace.”

Not only the younger generation, but many senior party members are also proactively adapting to the digital environment with a commendable sense of responsibility.

Comrade Nguyen Van Thu, a Party member who received the 50-year Party membership badge and is active in the My Luong neighborhood Party branch, My Phong ward, shared: “Despite my advanced age, I still regularly use my smartphone to stay updated on information. In my opinion, everything we post or share on social media has a certain impact on others. Therefore, Party members must be even more cautious and verify the source of information before commenting or sharing.”

Party officials, members, and citizens use smartphones to update information and proactively select and verify information sources on the internet.

Comrade Nguyen Van Tram, a senior Party member residing in the Tan Thanh hamlet Party branch, Vinh Binh commune, said: “There is a lot of information on social media these days, with fake news, harmful and toxic information rampant, and many advertisements designed to deceive people, making it difficult for them to distinguish between truth and falsehood. Therefore, the official information channel of the commune helps me and the people to obtain more accurate information…”

From dynamic young party members to senior members, the spirit of responsibility in cyberspace is spreading day by day. This is not only about adapting to digital transformation, but also about proactively maintaining the "ideological battleground" through the credibility, awareness, and actions of each cadre and party member amidst today's multi-directional flow of information.

EACH CITIZEN - A "SHIELD" IN CYBERSPACE

In the digital age, protecting ideological foundations is no longer solely the responsibility of the Party organization or law enforcement agencies, but is gradually becoming a conscious effort of every citizen participating in cyberspace.

Ultimately, a healthy information environment can only be formed when people know how to select, verify, and be responsible for every piece of content they access and share.

Nguyen Xuan Nghi, a second-year student at Saigon University, residing in An Lac Trung hamlet, Binh Ninh commune, said: “I use social media every day, so I encounter a lot of different kinds of information. Now I usually check with official news sources or websites before believing or sharing information with friends…”

Not only young people, but many citizens have also changed their social media habits towards a more cautious approach. Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Truc, residing in Block 1, Zone 2, Cho Gao Commune, said: “Before, if I saw any interesting information, I would immediately share it with my relatives and friends. But now, after reading newspapers and watching news, I understand that there is a lot of fake news and fabricated stories. Now, when I see unfamiliar information, I have to double-check it and don't dare share it indiscriminately like before.”

It is evident that, from each Party branch, cadre, and Party member to every citizen, the "fortresses" protecting the Party's ideological foundation are being built through awareness, responsibility, and faith from the grassroots.

These are not rigid, invisible "walls," but rather the inherent strength of the community, nurtured daily through real-life experiences, social consensus, and a proactive spirit in protecting authentic information in the digital age.
