For businesses, increasing investment in infrastructure, cooperating to use domestic products, and self-manufacturing are inevitable ways to help businesses and their brands grow. However, this is a long process that needs support.
Add value to your product
For enterprises, when they can be partly self-sufficient in raw materials and materials, from which they can produce finished products or input products for other units, production and business efficiency will be improved.
Duy Khanh Mechanical Company Limited is one of the typical units of Ho Chi Minh City. This enterprise has gradually grown to become a unit with enough capacity and production scale to supply products to end-user enterprises.
According to Chairman of the Board of Directors Do Phuoc Tong, to meet customer demand, the company invested nearly 200 billion VND to equip a new production line. Participating in the supply chain has created motivation for the company to change, catch up with the scale and needs of partners.
By investing in upgrading facilities, the company has acquired a modern production line to produce products such as motors, pumps, hand tools, sewing machines, motion controllers in cars, etc., ensuring supply meets the standards of many international brands. The company has researched and manufactured new products according to market demand instead of processing as before. From there, the company has enhanced the value and position of products in the production supply chain.
Nam Long Company Limited (in Long Thanh District) is one of the top 10 companies in the production of natural rubber gloves, and has been awarded the title of High Quality Vietnamese Goods for many years. The company's products have become familiar items for seafood and maritime companies.
Director of Nam Long Company Limited Le Bach Long shared that thanks to being proactive in raw material sources, the company can be more flexible in production and business. Specifically, the main raw material of the company is domestic rubber latex, which is available, so it is very convenient. According to Mr. Le Bach Long, in addition to export, the domestic market is one of the priorities in the company's development plan, contributing to promoting the development of the domestic rubber industry, while enhancing the position of Vietnamese products at home. The company has invested in a new production line, increased capacity, and focused on producing synthetic rubber products that are resistant to oil and heat, in order to better meet the increasingly diverse needs of the market.
Long-term problem
Production autonomy is the desire of enterprises and the economy , but this is not a story that can be achieved overnight, but rather a long-term strategy. In fact, many manufacturing enterprises, especially small and medium-sized units, still depend largely on foreign markets for raw materials, especially high-quality products.
Director of An Gia Door Company Limited (Long Thanh District) Dinh Duc Dien said that the company specializes in manufacturing aluminum and steel doors to provide services for housing and high-end construction projects. Because the market orientation is in a fairly high segment, the products receive high demands from material suppliers. Therefore, currently, the raw materials and accessories in the company's production are still heavily dependent on foreign manufacturers, especially Germany. In the future, the company will promote cooperation and use more products from domestic partners.
According to the Department of Industry (Ministry of Industry and Trade), to develop supporting industries, we must gradually become self-sufficient in domestic raw materials and components. Our country is accelerating the establishment of Northern Industrial Development Support Centers and Southern Industrial Development Support Technical Centers. These two centers play a role in supporting innovation and providing technical support to industrial enterprises, especially supporting enterprises. The industry and trade sector supports and encourages localities to build industrial innovation centers in localities with favorable conditions for industrial development.
In Dong Nai, the development of supporting industries has also been a matter of great concern to the province for many years, with the goal of reaching 21-23% of total industrial output. Dong Nai aims to develop more supporting industrial zones and clusters along with incentive policies, especially policies on finance, tax, technical support and management.
