The year-end ceremony is a long-standing traditional custom of the Vietnamese people, taking place on the last days of the lunar year, not only having spiritual significance but also an occasion for family members to reunite.


New Year's Eve or New Year's Eve ceremony is a ritual to mark the end of a year and prepare for the new year.

The New Year's Eve offering can be a New Year's Eve party, a year-end party for each family. This is also an occasion for family members to have a reunion meal after a year to enter the new year.

The New Year's Eve Offering is a part of the New Year's Eve offering ritual that takes place on the last days of the Lunar New Year, taking place on December 30 (if it is a full year) or December 29 (if it is a short year), called the New Year's Eve. And the New Year's Eve usually takes place in the afternoon and evening of this day.

Before the ceremony, families must clean and decorate the altar for Tet, prepare a tray of five fruits, incense, fresh flowers, candles and lights.

The year-end offering tray can be salty or vegetarian with all the delicious Tet dishes, the dishes should be fragrant and pure, and should be fully and solemnly displayed.

I respectfully bow to the Emperor of Heaven, the Mother of Earth, and all the Gods.
I respectfully bow to you, the God of the Kitchen, the God of the Kitchen.
I respectfully bow to you, the local God of the Land and Dragon Veins.
I respectfully bow to you, the Five Directions, Five Earths, and the Gods of Fortune and Virtue.
I respectfully bow to you, the God of Wealth and Land.
I bow to the Gods who govern this area.

Today is the day…., we, the believers, sincerely prepare incense, flowers, offerings, gold, silver, tea, and fruit, burn incense and present them before the altar. After a year of business, we would like to offer this ceremony to thank the heavens for blessing us with peace and luck.

We respectfully invite: Your Majesty, the current ruler of the year of the Rat, Your Majesty, the local tutelary god, the tu menh tao phu, the local tho dia long mach god, the five directions, five lands, the main gods of fortune and virtue, and the gods who govern this area.

We humbly ask you to hear our invitation, come down to the altar, witness our sincerity, accept our offerings, bless us, our whole family with peace and prosperity, and our work to be successful. May everyone be safe, our fortune and wealth increase, our hearts and minds expand, all requests will be answered, and all wishes will be granted.

Bless us with all favorable conditions and smooth work. Everyone is safe and secure, and we enjoy benefits every day. Yin and Yang support us, and our wishes come true. No disasters or calamities will invade us in the four seasons, and auspicious signs will come to us in the eight solar terms.

Before the Court, I respectfully report: Winter is almost over, the year is exhausted, the month is at its end, spring is near, and the new year is approaching.

Today is Tet, we and our whole family prepare offerings of incense, flowers, rice and soup, prepare the New Year's Eve ceremony, offer to Heaven and Earth, the Gods, pay homage to our ancestors, and commemorate the spirits.

As usual, I respectfully ask the Gods, Ancestors, and the spirits of the local people to come down to their seats, to witness, to receive the offerings, and to bless the whole family, young and old, with peace and prosperity. May all of us have favorable conditions and smooth work. May everyone enjoy peace and prosperity every day. May the Yin and Yang support us, and all our wishes come true.
