On May 21st, at a Board of Directors meeting, Bamboo Airways passed a resolution appointing Mr. Nguyen Minh Hai as the company's General Director effective May 24th, following the acceptance of Mr. Nguyen Manh Quan's resignation.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Hai was formerly the Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines before being appointed as the General Director of Bamboo Airways.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Hai holds a Bachelor's degree from the National Economics University, specializing in tourism business management. Notably, Mr. Hai has 25 years of experience in the aviation industry, having held many important positions in Vietnam Airlines and its subsidiaries, such as Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airlines, General Director of Cambodia Angkor Air, etc.
Previously, his predecessor, Mr. Nguyen Manh Quan, submitted his resignation as General Director to the Board of Directors of Bamboo Airways. Mr. Nguyen Manh Quan had held the position of General Director of Bamboo Airways since July 2022. Prior to that, he served as Deputy General Director of Bamboo Airways from July 2020 and as Permanent Deputy General Director of Bamboo Airways from September 2020.
Under the leadership of Mr. Nguyen Manh Quan, Bamboo Airways has achieved many successes in its operations and business. Despite facing numerous difficulties from the Covid-19 pandemic, the airline achieved its highest revenue in history in the second half of 2022. By the end of the first quarter, the airline's fleet utilization rate was close to 100%.
According to a representative of Bamboo Airways, the transfer of the CEO position from Mr. Nguyen Manh Quan to Mr. Nguyen Minh Hai is part of the restructuring process of Bamboo Airways, particularly in the areas of governance and operations, aimed at expanding the market and achieving sustainable development.
Bamboo Airways' medium-term goal, set since 2023, is to strengthen its international flight network and raise service standards, thereby making Bamboo Airways a leading airline brand in Asia and the world .
