The Provincial Party Standing Committee gave opinions on local adjustments to the general planning of Ha Long City.

On April 28, Comrade Vu Dai Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, chaired a meeting of the Provincial Party Committee Standing Committee to listen to and give opinions on the Project to locally adjust the Master Plan of Ha Long City to 2040.

According to the report of the Provincial Party Committee, the project to locally adjust the Master Plan of Ha Long City until 2040 aims to improve and restore the environment affected by Typhoon Yagi . At the same time, it attracts investment projects to promote land use efficiency.

The local adjustment content mainly relates to land functions and technical infrastructure systems in subdivisions 6 and 7 located in the wards of Bai Chay, Hung Thang, Ha Khau, Viet Hung, and Dai Yen. The contents on the nature of the planning, population forecast, and key economic and technical indicators still comply with Decision No. 72 /QD-TTg dated February 10, 2023 of the Prime Minister approving the Master Plan of Ha Long City to 2040.

Discussing at the conference, the members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee all agreed on the need to immediately implement the partial adjustment of the Master Plan of Ha Long City to 2040. At the same time, they requested the Provincial Party Committee to analyze and clarify the legal basis as well as the reasons and necessity of adjusting the plan.

Concluding the conference, Comrade Vu Dai Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Head of the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, requested the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee to direct specialized agencies to absorb the comments to complete the project content. In the process of completing the project to partially adjust the general planning, it is necessary to simultaneously implement the adjustment of the planning of subdivisions 6 and 7, ensuring the completion of planning adjustment procedures in the shortest time. Thereby, creating conditions to promote investment projects in the area, contributing to the overall growth results of the province.

The Provincial Party Secretary also noted that in the process of completing the procedures for adjusting the master plan and the sub-zone plans, it is necessary to review the overall land use status as well as the needs of investment projects in the area. In addition, it is necessary to continue to inherit the previous directives of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on environmental protection, maintaining the status quo of existing special-use forests and protective forests.
