On July 6, iMe Vietnam Company - the organizer of the Born Pink concert in Vietnam spoke out after being suspected of posting a map containing the "cow tongue line" (nine-dash line).
This unit said that the company currently does not have an official website to register domain names in Vietnam and only operates on some social networking platforms with the name iMe Vietnam.
The website that spreads the map image is a joint website of regional offices in Asia and is not the official website of the Vietnamese company.
On July 3, the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports granted permission to hold a BlackPink concert at My Dinh Stadium on July 29 and 30.
"The map images on the website do not represent any national territory. We are aware of the need to respect the sovereignty and culture of all countries where iMe is present. iMe has quickly reviewed and committed to replacing images that are inappropriate for the Vietnamese people.
iMe's goal in Vietnam is to bring Vietnamese fans the world's top programs and artists, so we hope to receive the welcome and support of the local government and people of Vietnam.
Once again, we would like to express our most sincere apologies for this unfortunate misunderstanding," iMe Vietnam stated in a document sent to the press.
iMe Vietnam said that this unit has worked directly and sent an explanatory letter to the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports and related ministries and departments.
At the same time, this unit also emphasized that the company is making every effort and actively coordinating with relevant agencies to complete additional official procedures for the program, in order to ensure the best program implementation plan, worthy of an international event in Vietnam.
On July 4, information appeared on social networks that iMe Entertainment Company posted a map of the "cow tongue line" on its homepage.
After the information was spread, the website of this unit announced: "Under maintenance". The link to the article has also been removed from the Fanpage.
On July 5, Mr. Le Thanh Liem (Chief Inspector of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) said that the Ministry had received the information and directed the Department of Performing Arts to work with relevant units to verify the information.
BlackPink's Born Pink concert will take place on July 29 and 30 at My Dinh Stadium, Hanoi. Tickets will be officially sold in two phases: the first phase will open at 12:00 on July 7 for the July 29 show; the second phase will open at 2:00 on July 7 for the July 30 show.
