In particular, emphasizing the role of the press, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Lam said that during the first three outbreaks, press agencies closely followed the epidemic situation, the direction of the Government, the Prime Minister, the National Steering Committee and relevant agencies to proactively provide information and propaganda. Regularly, continuously, accurately and fully update the developments of the epidemic situation from official sources of the National Steering Committee, the Ministry of Health and competent agencies; provide data and results of epidemic prevention and control; strengthen propaganda work to raise people's spirit of proactively preventing and fighting the epidemic, proactively declare health when returning from epidemic areas; voluntarily implement quarantine; advise and guide people on safe hygiene skills to deal with the epidemic...
During the 4th outbreak, the press reported promptly, quickly and accurately on epidemic prevention and control work; strongly spread the appeal of the General Secretary and President; the directions and measures of the Government, the Prime Minister, the Head of the National Steering Committee, the epidemic prevention and control work of ministries, branches and localities, contributing to quickly spreading the message of efforts to achieve the dual goal of both preventing and fighting the epidemic, ensuring social security for people, and recovering and developing the socio-economy, creating trust and consensus among the people; guiding and disseminating to the people about epidemic prevention measures, tracing, zoning, isolation and treatment to soon contain the epidemic.
Notably, the electronic press has had 2,286,883 news and articles related to epidemic prevention and control (from January 1, 2020 to September 30, 2023). In the past 3 years, radio and television stations have produced and broadcast more than 880,000 radio programs, with a duration of more than 2,350,000 minutes; more than 940,000 television programs, with a duration of more than 2,570,000 minutes. Posting more than 1,300,000 programs on electronic information pages, on Facebook fanpages, and Youtube of radio and television stations to increase dissemination and attract more listeners and viewers.

Foreign press agencies have published, broadcast news, articles and programs in 13 languages (including Vietnamese, English, French, Russian, Spanish, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, German, Lao, Thai, Cambodian and Indonesian) on regulations and policies on epidemic prevention and control; direction and practice of epidemic prevention and control in localities; social security work, ensuring the lives of people in isolated areas; support for localities, businesses and workers facing difficulties due to the epidemic; solutions to ensure the dual goal of both effectively fighting the epidemic and developing the economy; international cooperation on epidemic prevention and control..., affirming the efforts of the Vietnamese Government and people in preventing and controlling the COVID-19 epidemic to foreigners in Vietnam, Vietnamese people abroad and the international community.
"Press agencies publish and broadcast many good, quality articles with "timeless" value for people to read, listen to, and watch during the time of social distancing at home, which is a "mental health" medicine, such as the film "Border" of Vietnam Television, which made viewers extremely emotional and shared the difficulties and hardships but always dedicated to treating COVID-19 patients of the frontline forces. According to the Deputy Minister of Information and Communications, when fighting the pandemic and developing the economy, the Government and the National Assembly must work together with businesses in the spirit of "thinking honestly, speaking honestly, doing honestly, achieving real results, and giving real benefits to people and businesses". In the coming time, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Lam said that the Ministry of Information and Communications will closely follow the viewpoints and directions of the Government and the Prime Minister, closely coordinate with ministries, branches and localities to maintain direction and orientation for press and media agencies, and grassroots information systems to continue to strengthen information to create social consensus after transferring COVID-19 from group A infectious disease to group B infectious disease;
Direct and orient the press and media to combat and refute erroneous and hostile viewpoints, prevent toxic information, fake news, and unverified news; strictly handle false and unverified information.
Strengthen disease prevention communication to raise awareness and change people's behavior in protecting their own health, their families' and communities' health and vaccination.
