(NLĐO) - The restructuring of Ho Chi Minh City's press and publishing system must be considered within the overall context of implementing the Central Committee's resolutions on reorganizing the organizational apparatus.
On March 6th, the Department of Culture and Sports , the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the City Party Committee, and the Ho Chi Minh City Journalists Association organized a conference to summarize the work of journalism and publishing in 2024 and to implement tasks for 2025.
Attending and presiding over the conference were the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee, Nguyen Thanh Nghi; Member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Phan Nguyen Nhu Khue; and the Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the City Party Committee, Nguyen Manh Cuong.
Reporting on the results of press and publishing work in 2024, Mr. Tang Huu Phong, Deputy Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the City Party Committee, stated that the city's press agencies basically complied with the direction and guidance of leaders at all levels, especially on prominent issues. Mr. Tang Huu Phong assessed that there was synchronization in coordination and collaboration with relevant agencies and units to effectively carry out leadership, guidance, and direction of journalistic and publishing activities, and to promptly handle emerging situations.
Speaking at the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Thanh Nghi acknowledged and praised the important and effective contributions of press and publishing agencies in Ho Chi Minh City and throughout the city in 2024.
Editor-in-Chief of Nguoi Lao Dong Newspaper, To Dinh Tuan, received a commendation from the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee for the unit's outstanding achievements in journalism and publishing in 2024.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi assessed that these results have contributed to promoting a dynamic and creative spirit; making the image of Ho Chi Minh City as civilized, modern, and compassionate increasingly widespread; and helping Ho Chi Minh City continue to maintain its leading position and make important contributions to the socio -economic development of the region and the whole country.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi emphasized that 2025 is a year of special significance. Therefore, he requested that press and publishing agencies pay attention to implementing many contents. In particular, they should adhere closely to their principles and objectives, continuing to disseminate in-depth, timely, focused, and comprehensive information on the policies, resolutions of the Party and State, and of Ho Chi Minh City.
The advisory, steering, and management agencies of Ho Chi Minh City, as well as the press and publishing agencies in the city, need to closely follow and focus on disseminating information about Ho Chi Minh City's 2025 theme, new policies and directions for investment and development in the city... From there, they should proactively guide and direct public opinion, create social consensus, and generate a mainstream flow of effective information about Ho Chi Minh City's policies and guidelines through the press, publishing, media, and social media platforms.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nghi emphasized that the restructuring of Ho Chi Minh City's press and publishing system must be considered within the overall context of implementing the Central Committee's resolutions on reorganizing the organizational structure. This restructuring must ensure that it is linked to improving the quality and efficiency of press and publishing activities; enhancing the professional capacity, political integrity, and professional ethics of journalists and publishers.
The Standing Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee emphasized that the restructuring process should not lead to disruptions, stagnation, gaps, or omissions in the information and propaganda and ideological fronts.
On this occasion, the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee awarded certificates of merit and commendations to units with outstanding achievements in journalism and publishing in 2024.
The Nguoi Lao Dong newspaper is one of three units awarded a certificate of commendation by the Standing Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee in this round.
