Uruguayan press praises the beauty of Vietnamese Lunar New Year

Every year, Tet is celebrated on the first days of the first lunar month throughout Vietnam and in every country where Vietnamese people live. During Tet, family members worship their ancestors, gather together, visit relatives, and wish blessings and lucky money to the elderly and children.

The article emphasized that the traditional customs of celebrating Tet of Vietnamese people are still preserved, bearing its own cultural characteristics, expressing national identity such as Ong Cong, Ong Tao days; wrapping banh chung and banh tet; going to flower markets; being the first to enter the house on New Year's Day; going to pagodas at the beginning of the year; wrestling; throwing con; swinging and boat racing.

Grupo R Multimedio newspaper emphasized that Tet has many special meanings with beautiful customs, expressing cultural traditions and needs to be preserved and promoted by future generations, especially in the process of international integration, because all of those things make up the soul and unique identity of the Vietnamese people.
