This past weekend, the Vietnamese box office continued to witness the rise of films from Asian countries. The Japanese film Doraemon: Nobita and the Castle Under the Sea (New Version) topped the box office upon its official release on May 22nd and reached 95 billion VND by 10 AM on May 25th. Following closely behind Doraemon is the tearful Thai film Goodbye Gohan, which has already grossed nearly 30 billion VND after 10 days in Vietnamese theaters.

Meanwhile, the film " Once Upon a Time We Loved," starring Quoc Truong, continued its disappointing opening week, dropping to 18th place and currently earning only 1.9 billion VND after 10 days in theaters, according to Box Office Vietnam data. With this revenue, the film is certain to incur a loss.
The film "Underworld Beauty Salon, " starring Ngoc Trinh, fared even worse, dropping to 22nd place on the charts. After more than two weeks of release, the film has only grossed 12.6 billion VND. In the past week, "Underworld Beauty Salon" only earned an additional 600 million VND. Vietnamese films, already struggling at the box office, are now in a dire situation due to the overwhelming popularity of Doraemon, which is drawing large numbers of students to theaters at the end of the school year.

Recently, Ngoc Trinh and Quoc Truong have disappointed many viewers because their collaboration in creating content and livestreaming to sell products, while the films they participate in have not been well-received at the box office, causing audiences to turn their backs on them.
