Typhoon No. 1 is moving inland.

At approximately 9:30 AM on July 18th, information from the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue, and Civil Defense of Quang Ninh province indicated that the center of Typhoon No. 1 was expected to enter the area between Quang Ninh and Dongxing (China) with a strength of level 8-9, gusting to level 10-11.

At 9:00 AM this morning (July 18th), the center of Typhoon No. 1 was located at approximately 21.6 degrees North latitude and 1089.3 degrees East longitude, about 60-70 km east-southeast of Mong Cai (Quang Ninh). The strongest winds near the center of the typhoon reached level 10 (89-117 km/hour), with gusts up to level 13 (down one level compared to 4:00 AM this morning).

LATEST UPDATE: The eye of Typhoon No. 1 (Typhoon Talim) is now only 100 km from Quang Ninh.
