Tien Phong newspaper organizes seminar "Hai Phong"

In his opening remarks at the workshop, journalist Phung Cong Suong, Editor-in-Chief of Tien Phong Newspaper, stated: "Currently, with the Land Law 2024, the Housing Law 2023, and the Real Estate Business Law 2023 officially coming into effect on August 1, 2024, along with their implementing regulations, it can be affirmed that the policies supporting social housing and housing for workers in industrial zones have created a relatively complete legal framework, ensuring support and encouragement for businesses to participate in the development of social housing and worker housing."

According to statistics from the Hai Phong City Department of Construction, there are currently 9 social housing projects under construction in the city, with a total of 15,000 units. These are important projects for Hai Phong City to achieve the government's target of 15,400 social housing units for the 2021-2025 period. In addition, there are 21 projects in Hai Phong City that have received investment approval or are preparing to commence construction.

To achieve that result, the Hai Phong city government has always considered the development of social housing and housing for workers as a key task and included it in the targets of the city's five-year and annual socio-economic development plans.

Currently, in addition to aiming to build approximately 47,000 social housing units by 2030, exceeding the government's target of 33,500 units, the city is also striving to ensure that social housing will be integrated, convenient, and affordable living spaces for the majority of the population.

Journalist Phung Cong Suong stated: The workshop, with the participation of leaders from ministries and sectors, leading experts, and real estate businesses, aims to jointly evaluate, analyze, and discuss solutions and experiences in developing social housing in Hai Phong. In addition, it seeks to find solutions and remove obstacles for localities in developing social housing and worker housing, thus achieving assigned goals.

At the Hai Phong City leadership workshop, leaders from the Ministry of Construction, representatives from relevant agencies, and the Real Estate Association highly appreciated the local government's efforts in overcoming difficulties, and affirmed the need to continue promoting Hai Phong's exemplary model in social housing development.

The workshop serves as a forum for delegates to collectively evaluate and analyze experiences in developing social housing in Hai Phong in particular, and to find solutions and overcome obstacles in the development of social housing and housing for workers in general.
