Barcelona cancels friendly match in Japan

Barcelona has just officially announced the cancellation of the friendly match with Vissel Kobe in Japan, scheduled to take place this weekend, due to a "serious breach of contract" by the organizer.

Barcelona will not travel to Japan for a friendly match.

According to ESPN , the problem arose related to payments that the organizer had promised to Barca but had not been made as agreed. “The club was forced to cancel the match in Japan due to a serious breach of contract by the organizer,” Barca confirmed in a statement.

However, Barca still left open the possibility of continuing their journey in Korea, where they are expected to face FC Seoul (July 31) and Daegu FC (August 4). However, this will only become a reality if the organizers in Korea meet all the conditions required by the club.

“If conditions are right, the team will travel to South Korea in the coming days. Barcelona regrets this situation and apologises to its large fan base in Japan,” the statement said.

After the tour, Barca will return to Spain to host Como (Italy) in a friendly at Estadi Johan Cruyff on August 10. After that, coach Hansi Flick's team will begin their journey to defend the La Liga title with an away match against Mallorca on August 16.
