On June 2, Hung Thinh General Hospital held a scientific workshop on screening and early treatment of gastrointestinal cancer.
At the workshop, Master, Doctor Tran Duc Canh, Department of Functional Endoscopy, Hanoi K Hospital shared about new techniques in endoscopic screening for early gastrointestinal cancer, including the application of flexible endoscopy in the diagnosis and intervention of early gastrointestinal cancer.
This is a new, minimally invasive endoscopic intervention technique that allows the removal of large, fibrotic, and recurrent lesions in one piece to accurately assess pathological anatomy, helping patients preserve the integrity of the digestive tract.
After the workshop, Dr. Tran Duc Canh directly participated in endoscopy of special pathological cases and guided staff of Hung Thinh General Hospital in applying new endoscopic techniques in practice.
Gastrointestinal cancer often progresses silently and is difficult to detect. Anyone can have gastrointestinal polyps, even when the malignant tumor is in stage one or two and has not yet shown obvious symptoms. Screening for gastrointestinal cancer by endoscopy is the only method that can both detect and treat polyps (cut or biopsy) at the same time; diagnose early and accurately the type of gastrointestinal cancer; have timely treatment measures to increase the success rate of treatment for patients.
