WATCH CLIP:

Today (November 5), information from a leader of the People's Committee of Lak district (Dak Lak) said that they are verifying information about 2 tourists being knocked down by elephants while traveling in the Lak lake area.

Previously, a social media account posted two short clips recording tourists being kicked and beaten by elephants with their trunks.

The first clip recorded the image of a male tourist filming the clip while saying: "Elephants can be touched, everyone", and at the same time touching the trunk; immediately this person was knocked down by the elephant's trunk.

Another clip shows a girl running up to touch the butt of an elephant carrying passengers. At that moment, the elephant kicked the girl, causing her to fall to the ground.

According to initial verification, the incident occurred at Lak Lake Tourist Area in Lien Son town (Lak district). The two tourists above came from Lam Dong province.

Mr. YVE (an elephant owner in Lak district) said that the elephant in the above clips is female elephant Na Tuc (45 years old) owned by a relative.

"The female elephant Na Tuc is normally very gentle and has never knocked anyone down; although the elephant trainer reminded the tourists, the elephant was startled by the provocation and had a natural reflex that led to the unfortunate incident," Mr. YVE added.
