At noon on November 9th, Vietnam time, the Vietnamese B petanque team competed in the final match of the women's 3-person team event at the 2025 Asian Petanque Championship against Cambodia.
The Vietnamese players focused on finding opportunities to score optimal points. However, the opposing team performed better in each technical shot and closed out the final match with a 13-5 victory.
With this result, Cambodia won the gold medal, while Vietnam B won the silver medal. Vietnam A won the bronze medal in this event. Vietnam A lost to Vietnam B in the semi-finals, so they shared third place.
"At this tournament, the Vietnamese petanque players put in a great effort. We will also learn from this experience for our players after the 2025 Asian Championships to continue preparing for the 33rd SEA Games. At this Asian Championship, all the players with good skills participated," shared Mr. Doan Tuan Anh, the head of the Vietnamese petanque team at the tournament.
Previously, the Vietnamese petanque team won two bronze medals in the men's and women's technical events.
The 2025 Asian Petanque Championship will take place from November 5th to 10th in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Following the Asian Championships, the Vietnamese petanque team will focus on competing for the gold medal at the 33rd SEA Games held in Thailand from December 9th to 20th.
