At noon on November 9, Vietnam time, the Vietnam B petanque team competed in the final match of the 3-person women's team of the 2025 Asian Petanque Championship with their opponent Cambodia.
The Vietnamese players focused on finding opportunities to gain optimal points. However, the other team did better in each technical throw and closed the final match with a 13-5 victory.
With this result, Cambodia won the Gold Medal and Vietnam B won the Silver Medal. Vietnam A won the Bronze Medal in this event. Vietnam A lost to Vietnam B in the semi-finals so they tied for third place.
"In this tournament, the Vietnamese players played hard. We will also draw experience for the players after the 2025 Asian Championship to continue preparing for the 33rd SEA Games. In this Asian tournament, all the players with good skills will participate," said the leader of the Vietnamese petanque team at the tournament, Mr. Doan Tuan Anh.
Previously, the Vietnamese petanque team won two bronze medals in the men's and women's technical events.
The 2025 Asian Petanque Championship takes place from November 5 to 10 in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia).
After the Asian Championship, the Vietnamese petanque team will focus on competing for gold at the 33rd SEA Games taking place in Thailand from December 9 to 20.
