In parallel with joining hands with the entire banking industry to support the Fund for Disaster Prevention and Mitigation in response to the call of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front on September 10th, even before Typhoon No. 3 made landfall in Vietnam, BIDV promptly directed its branches in areas at risk of storms and floods to closely monitor the situation, strive to overcome difficulties, and implement the "four on-the-spot" principle: on-the-spot command; on-the-spot forces; on-the-spot means and materials; and on-the-spot logistics, ensuring smooth operations and serving the transaction needs of businesses and people.
BIDV branches in the area also quickly organized numerous relief teams to reach areas isolated and cut off by floods, providing emergency support at the most difficult times for the people.
BIDV has instructed its branches in the areas affected by the storms and floods to directly support the local authorities and people with between 500 million and 1 billion VND (depending on the extent of damage in each locality) to overcome the consequences of the natural disaster.
At the same time, with the spirit of joining hands to support people in flood-stricken areas, more than 240 grassroots trade unions at BIDV units nationwide have been and continue to make donations and support the people through political and social organizations of the industry and localities, and through various direct and timely forms.
BIDV's practical actions, driven by a spirit of sharing and mutual support, have been contributing to helping the government and people in flood-affected areas alleviate difficulties, stabilize their lives, and restore production and business activities. BIDV will continue to monitor the damage caused by floods in affected localities to provide appropriate and effective support.
Providing timely support to localities affected by natural disasters is a fine tradition that BIDV has proactively and actively implemented for many years. The amount of money BIDV has donated during natural disasters in the past 5 years has reached hundreds of billions of VND.
In addition, BIDV also mobilizes the public to join forces in building a sustainable green lifestyle through community sports activities such as "BIDV Run - For a Green Life" to plant trees, build community cultural centers to prevent floods, and provide relief from drought and saltwater intrusion...
