According to initial information, at 13:12, September 29, 2024, Binh Hai Border Guard Station ( Quang Ngai ) received information from the Binh Chau Commune Community Watch Station, Binh Son District about fishing boat QNg 95739 TS, while operating in the sea area of ​​Hoang Sa archipelago, suspected of being obstructed and attacked by a strange ship.

Immediately after receiving the report, Binh Hai Border Guard Station coordinated with Binh Chau Commune People's Committee and Binh Chau Commune Community Watchtower to verify, but there is no exact information on human and vehicle damage.

However, according to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam (born 1964), in Chau Thuan Bien village, Binh Chau commune, Binh Son district, the person in charge of the Watchtower reported that at about 4:40 p.m. the same day, through the Icom device on frequency 77000USB, contact was made and Captain Nguyen Thanh Bien informed that there were currently 3 crew members on board with broken arms and legs and 7 crew members injured (the names of each injured person are unknown).

Fishermen on fishing boat QNg 95739 TS contacted the Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Center Region II and other authorities, requesting rescue assistance.

It is known that fishing boat QNg 95739 TS, 21 meters long, 760 CV capacity, is owned by Ms. Nguyen Thi Dung (born 1984), in Binh Chau commune, Binh Son district, and captained by Mr. Nguyen Thanh Bien (born 1984), in the same commune.

Fishing boat QNg 95739 TS, departed from Sa Ky Border Guard Station, Sa Ky Port Border Guard Station at 10:45 a.m. on September 13, 2024, registered to fish in Hoang Sa archipelago, with 10 crew members on board.

Through monitoring on the journey monitoring system, fishing vessel QNg 95739 TS is currently moving towards shore, in the West - Southwest direction, moving at a speed of 6 nautical miles/hour, about 168 nautical miles from shore, expected to arrive at the locality on October 1, 2024.

The incident is being monitored and reported by authorities, and a specific assessment of the damage will be made when the fishing boat returns to the locality.
