This decision was made right after EVN increased the electricity price to 1,920.3732 VND/kWh.
Accordingly, for the group of residential customers including 6 levels, according to the principle, the more electricity used, the higher the electricity price.
Specifically, level 1 has the lowest price of 1,728 VND/kWh (old price is 1,678 VND).
Level 2 costs 1,786 VND/kWh (old price is 1,734 VND).
Level 3 costs 2,074 VND/kWh (old price is 2,014 VND).
Level 4 costs 2,612 VND/kWh (old price is 2,536 VND).
Level 5 costs 2,919 VND/kWh (old price is 2,834 VND)
Level 6 costs 3,015 VND/kWh (old price is 2,927 VND)
Retail electricity prices for production with voltage levels from 110kV and above are divided into normal hours, off-peak hours and peak hours. Specifically, the lowest price during off-peak hours is 999 VND, and peak hours is 2,844 VND/kWh.
Voltage levels from 22kV to below 110kV cost from VND1,037 to VND2,959/kWh. Voltage levels from 6kV to below 22kV cost from VND1,075 to VND3,055/kWh.
Previously, Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) issued Decision No. 377/QD-EVN on adjusting the average retail electricity price. Accordingly, EVN decided to adjust the average retail electricity price to VND 1,920.3732/kWh (excluding value added tax) from May 4, 2023.
This adjustment is equivalent to a 3% increase compared to the current average retail electricity price.
Assessing the impact of the new electricity price on households, Mr. Vo Quang Lam, Deputy General Director of EVN, said: The additional electricity bill for households consuming 50 kWh/month is VND 2,500/household (the number of households using less than 50 kWh of electricity in EVN in 2022 is 3.33 million households, accounting for 11.98% of the total number of households using electricity for daily life).
The additional electricity bill for a household consuming 100 kWh/month is VND 5,100/household (the number of households using electricity from 51-100 kWh in 2022 under EVN is 4.7 million households, accounting for 16.85% of the total number of households using electricity for daily life).
The additional electricity bill for households consuming 200 kWh/month is 11,100 VND/household (the number of households using electricity from 101-200 kWh in 2022 under EVN is 10.04 million households, accounting for 36.01% of the total number of households using electricity for daily life), this is the customer group with the largest proportion.
The additional electricity bill for a household consuming 300 kWh/month is VND 18,700/household (the number of households using electricity from 201-300 kWh in 2022 under EVN is 4.96 million households, accounting for 17.81% of the total number of households using electricity for daily life).
The additional electricity bill for a household consuming 400 kWh/month is VND 27,200/household (the number of households using electricity from 301-400 kWh in 2022 under EVN is 2.21 million households, accounting for 7.95% of the total number of households using electricity for daily life).
