Binh Dinh wants to use M80 seaplanes

According to the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province, using seaplanes is more optimal than helicopters or ground planes in terms of take-off and landing areas as well as fuel capacity.

On October 30, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province said it had just sent a document to the Ministry of Transport regarding guidelines for piloting seaplane operations at sea.

According to the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province, recently, the province has received proposals from Aron Flying Ship Co., Ltd., SMBL Co., Ltd. (minutes of investment research signing), Nam Viet Real Estate Joint Stock Company, proposing to use the M80 seaplane to combine sea rescue and transport tourists to near-shore island areas. This is a line with a payload of 3.1 tons, a transport capacity of 1.2 tons, carrying a maximum of 8 people (including 2 pilots), a maximum flight speed of 200km/h, and a water speed of 54 nautical miles/h (about 100km/h).

"The use of seaplanes is more optimal than helicopters or ground aircraft in terms of take-off and landing areas, size characteristics as well as fuel capacity," the document stated.

According to the document, the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province requested the Ministry of Transport to provide specific instructions on seaplane models allowed to be used in Vietnam and procedures for registering for a license to use the M80 seaplane model to serve tourist transportation in Binh Dinh province.

According to the leaders of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, there is currently no suitable means of transport to fully explore the natural beauty of Binh Dinh province's sea, as well as to help move between tourist destinations conveniently and quickly. Therefore, developing seaplane activities to serve tourism is a new breakthrough direction, creating a unique highlight for the province's tourism industry.
