Binh Dinh: Elevating ICISE center to become a hub for cooperation in science, technology and innovation

DNVN – The Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee suggested that there should be specific solutions to upgrade the ICISE Center, turning it into a place for in-depth, spearhead research, and a focal point for international cooperation in science, technology and innovation.

The People's Committee of Binh Dinh province has just issued a notice of the conclusion of Chairman Pham Anh Tuan at the meeting with the International Center for Interdisciplinary Science and Education (ICISE) on science and technology (S&T) development in the spirit of Resolution No. 57-NQ/TW dated December 22, 2024 of the Politburo .

ICISE Center welcomes experts, scientists and researchers from 19 countries around the world to attend the 2nd international conference on nano-life science - NanoBioCoM2024.

The conclusion shows that, since its inception, the ICISE Center has organized many international conferences, scientific seminars and specialized classes, attracting a large number of scientists from countries and territories around the world , including Nobel and Fields Prize-winning professors.

Through that, it has created opportunities for Vietnamese students and scientists to integrate into the international scientific community, update the latest knowledge and advanced research methods from prestigious professors and experts in the world, contributing to promoting the development of science and technology and education of the country in general and Binh Dinh in particular.

To effectively implement Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation, the Chairman of Binh Dinh province requested the ICISE Center to continue to maintain and enhance its activities to become a meeting place for scientists, to spread the results from domestic and international conferences, seminars and scientific seminars, contributing to the development of science and technology, promoting the socio-economic development of the locality.

Focus on basic science research, in-depth research in 4 main research directions: Neutrino physics, astrophysics, quantum physics, biophysics. In the immediate future, focus on attracting scientists and prestigious researchers in fields where Vietnam still lacks and is weak in human resources.

Leaders of Binh Dinh province presented the minutes of cooperation in science and technology development to representatives of ICISE Center.

At the same time, promote applied research; focusing on proposing and ordering commercializable scientific and technological tasks to meet social needs, serving people's daily life, production and livelihood.

“There needs to be specific solutions to elevate the ICISE Center, turning it into a place for in-depth, spearhead scientific and technological research of the province; becoming a focal point for international cooperation in science, technology and innovation,” the Chairman of Binh Dinh province emphasized.

Regarding the project to develop IFIRSE Institute into a national key research institute; to raise Vietnam's position in science and technology, innovation. The head of Binh Dinh provincial government requested ICISE Center to clarify the proposed contents, ensuring novelty and breakthrough.

At the same time, assign the Department of Science and Technology to be the bridge, develop a plan to implement cooperation between the province and ICISE Center on science and technology development and innovation. Review proposals on ICISE's science and technology tasks to submit to competent authorities for consideration and decision in accordance with the correct order, procedures and current regulations of the state.

Leaders of the Department of Science and Technology of Binh Dinh province worked with the ICISE Center on coordination contents in the action program for science and technology development, innovation and digital transformation of the province.

Assign the Department of Finance to inspect, review, balance, and arrange the provincial budget in accordance with regulations to support the ICISE Center with resources to carry out scientific and technological research tasks in accordance with the orientation and needs, promote the province's socio-economic development in both the short and long term, and create motivation for in-depth and cutting-edge scientific research and development in the spirit of Resolution No. 57.

In addition, research and propose to the province mechanisms and policies to invite experts and scientists to work at the ICISE Center.

Since its inception, ICISE has coordinated with the Rencontres du Vietnam and the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province to organize about 200 high-quality international scientific events and more than 45 specialized scientific schools, attracting more than 16,000 scientists from 40 countries and territories. In particular, the center has invited 18 Nobel Prize-winning professors, 2 Fields Medal-winning professors, 2 Kavli Prize-winning professors, 1 Shaw Prize-winning professor, 3 Dirac Prize-winning professors and many other famous scientists to attend and share knowledge.

ICISE is not only a place to "discuss world affairs", with this core, Binh Dinh is being watched by scientific researchers as well as technology enterprises. Many technology giants, including TMA Solutions, FPT... have poured millions of USD into developing infrastructure here. Along with that, iconic scientific works have been built, turning Binh Dinh into a bright spot in science and technology, such as: The first science avenue in the country; Cosmonautics House - Observatory, Science Discovery Center...
