In the coastal fishing village of Quang Xuong district, Sam Son city ( Thanh Hoa ), a new day begins not with the sound of an alarm clock, but with the rhythm of rowing boats cutting through the waves, and the rhythmic calls to each other like the breath of the ocean.

For fishermen, the sea is everything. It gives them jobs, it gives them meals, it gives them hope. Every morning, they begin a new cycle: going out to sea, returning to the dock, selling their fish, and then preparing for the next trip.

Around 4:30 a.m., as the dawn just touched the sea, the boats began to dock.

Perhaps only those who have ever woken up very early, gone to the sea to welcome the sunrise and witnessed the fishermen struggling to pull their nets, can fully appreciate that radiant yet simple beauty.

Dawn in Quang Xuong fishing village is not only light, but also light of hope, light of sweat and smiles of people clinging to the sea.

Each raft and boat trip brings back many kinds of seafood such as squid, crab, shrimp, mantis shrimp and various kinds of fish.

Every time the boat reaches shore, people gather around to pull in nets laden with fresh fish, such as herring, mackerel, anchovies... sparkling in the early morning light, mixed with cheerful laughter.

Right next to the beach, the fish market opens at 5am. The sound of people selling fish is steady and crisp like the sound of waves.

Fishmongers neatly arrange trays of fish and baskets of seafood, inviting customers to buy them to eat or bring to town.

The sparkling silver herrings, fresh squid, mixed with shrimp, crabs, etc. create a colorful "picture".

When the sun has risen high, the market is over, leaving only traces of footprints on the wet sand, and the salty aftertaste lingering on the hands of the women in the fishing village.

Just like that, day after day, month after month, the fishermen of Quang Xuong and Sam Son quietly continue to write their story of making a living, still steadfast in their promise not to leave the water.
