Many new techniques have been introduced in joint replacement surgery.

The Vietnam Association of Arthroscopy and Joint Replacement (VAAS) recently held an international conference themed "Better Results with Advanced Techniques," attracting numerous presentations and research papers from experts in the fields of joint replacement, sports medicine, and updates on new medical techniques and materials.

Dr. Tang Ha Nam Anh presented his report at the conference.

In the thematic report "Superpath Hip Replacement: 24-Hour Discharge," Dr. Tang Ha Nam Anh, President of the Vietnam Society of Arthroscopy and Joint Replacement, emphasized the role of minimally invasive surgical techniques and early post-operative recovery care programs (ERAS) in helping patients experience pain-free recovery, early post-operative rehabilitation, mobility within just 3 hours, and the ability to return home after 24 hours. The SuperPath incision is considered a new advancement in hip replacement surgery, offering advantages such as minimal invasiveness, maximum preservation of muscle and soft tissue structures around the joint, especially the external rotator cuff, shortened recovery time, and improved quality of life for patients.

MSc-Dr. Do Van Loi shared this at the conference.

In the report "Planning Osteoplasty for the Treatment of Early-Stage Osteoarthritis of the Knee in Young Patients," MSc-Dr. Do Van Loi, an orthopedic trauma specialist, emphasized the role of osteotomy around the knee joint, one of the trends in knee-preserving treatment for young patients with early-stage osteoarthritis who still wish to be active.
