Military Hospital 121 (headquarters located in Ninh Kieu Ward, central Can Tho City) is a Grade I multi-specialty medical facility under the Logistics and Technical Department, Military Region 9. Established in 1964, Military Hospital 121 has twice received the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces and many other prestigious awards.
Military Hospital 121 strives to provide the best possible medical examination, treatment, and healthcare opportunities for all individuals, both within and outside the military. Currently, Military Hospital 121 examines and treats over 1,000 patients covered by health insurance from many provinces and cities every day.
Promote treatment of injuries and orthopedics.
On October 30th, patient VKH (72 years old, residing in Can Tho City) experienced significant pain relief in her right arm and was eating and sleeping well. Prior to this, the patient had been involved in a traffic accident, sustaining a severe injury to her right arm. Upon admission, through paraclinical techniques, doctors at Military Hospital 121 diagnosed her with a complex fracture of the right arm and recommended total shoulder replacement surgery. With the collaboration of doctors from the Ho Chi Minh City Orthopedic and Trauma Hospital, the total shoulder replacement surgery for patient VKH was successfully completed. Post-surgery, the patient's vital signs were stable and she recovered quickly.
Colonel, Doctor Le Van Cong, Head of the Orthopedic Trauma Department at Military Hospital 121 (a member of the surgical team), said that patient VKH's health is currently progressing well, and his right arm, especially his right hand, has good grasping ability. The patient will be discharged in the next few days.

According to Dr. Le Van Cong, in September 2025, at Military Hospital 121, a 15-year-old female patient, LHGH, residing in Can Tho City, underwent successful spinal correction surgery. Before admission, the patient had a hunched back on the right side, significantly affecting her mobility. After the surgery, the patient regained good mobility and an upright posture. In 2024, Military Hospital 121 also successfully performed hip replacement surgery on a 100-year-old female patient, LTB, residing in Vinh Long province. Prior to that, a 61-year-old female patient, PTN, residing in Vinh Long, also underwent successful artificial knee replacement surgery at Military Hospital 121. This patient had multiple underlying conditions and had suffered from osteoarthritis of the knee 12 years prior.

Colonel, Distinguished Physician, Specialist Doctor Level 2 Tran Manh Hung, Director of Military Hospital 121, emphasized that the aforementioned exemplary surgical cases have affirmed the professional capacity of Military Hospital 121 in the field of orthopedic trauma treatment. In the future, Military Hospital 121 will continue to develop advanced techniques, performing them right in Can Tho City, eliminating the need to transfer patients to higher-level hospitals, thus contributing to reducing costs for patients. Strengthening cooperation and community support.
Recently, Military Hospital 121 signed a cooperation agreement with Can Tho University to jointly train high-quality human resources, develop science and technology, and support sustainable development. Previously, as part of the "Lighting Up the Dreams of Can Tho University Students" program, Military Hospital 121 awarded scholarships totaling 200 million VND to provide timely support to students who overcame difficulties and excelled in their studies.

According to Dr. Tran Manh Hung, in recent times, Military Hospital 121 has also implemented cooperation programs with Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Nam Can Tho University, Vo Truong Toan University, etc., in the training of human resources in the medical and pharmaceutical fields. Simultaneously, Military Hospital 121 continues to cooperate closely with Military Hospital 175, Cho Ray Hospital, University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital of Ho Chi Minh City, Thong Nhat Hospital of Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City Orthopedic and Trauma Hospital, Can Tho Central General Hospital, Can Tho University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, Can Tho Oncology Hospital, Can Tho Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, etc., in consultations, surgeries, transfer of new techniques, and scientific research. "In the first 10 months of this year, besides promoting the application of many new techniques in medical examination and treatment, bringing high efficiency, Military Hospital 121 has also actively contributed to the community through social welfare programs. Accordingly, Military Hospital 121 organized 5 free medical examination and medication distribution sessions for over 1,600 poor people in Can Tho and An Giang; supported the construction of houses of gratitude; supported the people of Cuba; visited and presented gifts to wounded and sick soldiers during holidays; contributed to the fund for comrades' housing, the fund for gratitude, and the fund for the poor; and awarded outstanding students…with a total expenditure of more than 2.5 billion VND. These noble gestures demonstrate the timely sharing of the medical staff of Military Hospital 121 with people both domestically and internationally," informed Dr. Tran Manh Hung.

On October 30, 2025, in Ngoc To commune (Can Tho City), Military Hospital 121 coordinated the organization of free medical examinations and medication distribution for Khmer ethnic people and people in difficult circumstances.
