Multiply the drops of blood that save lives.

Established in September 2014 under the patronage of the Hai Duong Provincial Red Cross Society (formerly), the Hai Duong Youth Blood Donation Club quickly became a leading force in the province's humanitarian activities. From its humble beginnings with only a few dozen members, the club has now grown to over 200 active volunteers. Of these, 80% are university and college students. This young, enthusiastic workforce contributes significantly to the strong momentum of the blood donation movement in Hai Duong.

The club is organized into flexible teams and groups, with three school-level blood donation teams – Hai Duong Medical Technical University, Hai Duong University, and Hai Duong Central College of Pharmacy – playing a core role in spreading the movement within the school environment. All club activities are implemented professionally, from promotion and mobilization to receiving donated blood.

Always present at the most crucial moments of the voluntary blood donation movement in Hai Duong province, the Hai Duong Youth Blood Donation Club has made its mark with impressive figures. During the period 2020-2022, despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the club maintained its annual blood donation programs such as: Summer Sunshine, Golden Autumn, Red Spring, and Abundant Tet… and collected approximately 5,000 units of blood.

From 2023 to the present, the club's activities have continued to expand, contributing approximately 7,000 units of blood for emergency and treatment purposes at the National Institute of Hematology and Blood Transfusion and Hai Duong General Hospital. Each program is organized systematically and scientifically , applying digital technology to ensure a fast, efficient, and safe process.

At the 2025 "Golden Autumn" Blood Donation Day, Ms. Hoang Thi Kim Ngan, a student at Hai Duong University, shared: "This is my third time participating in blood donation. Each time I come to the event, I feel the positive spirit and meaning. The members of the Hai Duong Youth Blood Donation Club are very active, organize meticulously, and always guide and support volunteers wholeheartedly."

An environment for developing life skills for young people.

Beyond being a blood donation campaigning organization, the club also provides a life skills training environment for young people. Regular training in first aid, event organization, and community communication helps volunteers grow in knowledge and social responsibility. In addition, the club actively participates in many other charitable activities such as environmental protection, donating to the poor, caring for families of policy beneficiaries, and organizing recreational programs for underprivileged children.

In recognition of these significant contributions, the club has received numerous awards from various levels and sectors over the years: Certificates of Merit from the People's Committee of Hai Duong Province (formerly) in 2020 and 2024; Certificates of Merit from the Steering Committee for Blood Donation of Hai Duong Province (formerly); and Certificates of Merit from the Vietnam Youth Union (2022). These awards affirm the club's persistent efforts in its humanitarian journey.

After more than 10 years of operation, the Club is entering a new phase with the aspiration to build a model of youth blood donation mobilization in Hai Phong city in particular and the Northern region in general. One of the key directions is to standardize the organization of blood donation events, improve the quality of logistics, and strengthen the connection between volunteers and the community of potential blood donors. The Club also aims to build a network to reach people using a "multi-point - multi-channel" model, and promote communication on digital platforms to expand its scope of influence.

First aid training helps volunteers grow in knowledge and social responsibility.

According to the club's chairman, Pham Tuan Vu, the club will prioritize developing a reserve blood donation group with expertise in first aid, ready to support hospitals in emergency situations regarding blood supply. The club plans to cooperate with businesses, industrial parks, and schools to organize more regular blood donation points, aiming to steadily increase the amount of blood collected annually.

“We aspire to build a youth force that is not only enthusiastic but also highly skilled, responsible, and capable of leading the movement in the long term. The club will continue to innovate its methods, apply technology, and expand its connections so that the blood donation movement truly spreads widely and sustainably,” Mr. Vu emphasized.

According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Mung, Head of the Health Care Committee (Hai Phong City Red Cross Society), the Hai Duong Youth Blood Donation Club not only makes a significant contribution to blood donation to save lives, but also ignites a spirit of volunteerism in the community. These voluntary blood donations, connected from heart to heart, are continuing to write a journey rich in compassion and social responsibility in Hai Duong.
