The Center for Innovation and Application of Science and Technology (under the Department of Science and Technology of Hai Phong City) is implementing the project "Applying advanced techniques to build a model for growing peony and black grapes using high technology".
The project will be implemented in the period 2024-2026 with a total scale of 1 hectare, located at two planting sites. In An Phu commune, the area is 6,000 m² , including 3,500 m² of peony grapes and 2,500 m² of black grapes. In Bac An Phu ward, the planting area is 4,000 m² , including 3,000 m² of peony grapes and 1,000 m² of black grapes.

Thanks to the synchronized application of technical measures, the survival rate of the two grape varieties has now reached over 97% compared to the initial number of plants. The plants grow uniformly, with strong branching, balanced canopies, green foliage, and good adaptability to the local ecological conditions.
The autumn-winter crop of 2025 was the first harvest of the model. The fruit setting rate of the black grape variety ranged from 74.2% to over 75%, and that of the peony grape variety ranged from 72.5% to over 76%.

Despite adverse weather conditions, the initial yield of the model reached 5.66 - 5.81 tons/ha for black grapes and 1.5 - 1.6 tons/ha for peony grapes.
These results demonstrate the development potential of the two grape varieties when advanced techniques are applied and production is organized in a high-tech manner, creating a foundation for further refining the process and expanding the model in the future.
